Alex chewed thoughtfully, his shoulder resting lightly on Firiko's.

Firiko tried to ignore him, but it was hard since Alex was under his wing.

Alex felt a light breeze. Shivering, he scooted closer to Firiko.

Firiko tensed slightly at the contact, but oblidged and shielded the other from the wind.

(Honestly, Alex is behaving very well rn. He never really learned about personal space… XD)
Alex shivered again.

Firiko pulled him a bit closer with his wing, not sure why he was doing it in the first place.

Alex smiled at Firiko.
"Thank you. Miss Hinata said it would get cold, but I forgot to pack heavier clothes."

Firiko shrugged, "Eh, it should get a bit warmer once we reach the foothills…"

"Okay!" Alex put his hands around Firiko in a friendly hug, then stood to start packing camp up.

Firiko blushed, watching the other "hOW IS HE SO CHEERY?" (pls ignore the caps lock…)

(Everyone asks that of Alex at some point XD)
Alex rolled up the sleeping bag, humming a happy tune.

(I can see that…)
Firiko watched him, bewildered.

Alex, once finished with his task, moved on to take down the tent. He pulled everything out, including the box. He set them by the dying fire as he unhooked the tent from the trees. Folding the tent, he tucked it into his bag.

Firiko watched with interest.

With a flourish, Alex swung the full bag on his back.
"Tada!"

Firiko nodded, standing up and extinguishing the flame.

Alex, now full of energy, wrapped his hands around the backpack straps. He was bouncing on his heels.
"Shall we continue on?"

Firiko nodded, shifting back to wolf form. "I'm ready when you are.."

Alex nodded. With a literal spring in his step, he started forward.
"Here we go!"

Firiko padded quietly after him.

Alex confidently led them through the forest; he was acting like a little ball of sunshine.

Firiko marvelled at the other's inherent cheerfullness.

Alex's face seemed to glow with happiness; his eyes filled with wonder and his wide smile showing off is pearly white teeth. He watched with wonder the world travel by as they journeyed. Finally, he led them to a clearing.
"Look, look!" He cried with delight. He pointed to a mountain peak, far in the distance. It was barely visible.
"We're almost there!" They really, really weren't.

Firiko nodded, "Yeah.." he said, wonder how in the world the other could be this cheery.

"I bet we could get there by nightfall if we run!" Alex took off into the woods, not waiting for Firiko to follow. He was surprisingly fast, disappearing into the woods.

Firiko burst into a lope after him, surprisingly agile despite his wings.

Alex hooted in joy. Suddenly, an arrow whizzed by, nearly hitting his nose. Alex screamed, but he kept running.

Firiko's eyes widened when he heard the other scream, and he quickly came level with him. "What's going on?!"

"Someone's attacking us!" Alex yelled as he ran. Another arrow whizzed by.
"They're probably after the box!"

Firiko huffed, spreading his wings just in front of Alex, "Get on!"
