Firiko sighed, he was headed back to the Primal Forest. But it was taking longer than usual cause of the constant stop and hide from the pair of rogues he'd accidentally antagonized.

Alex slowed down; he needed to find a place to set up camp. He started paying more attention to his surroundings.
Firiko sighed once more, glad that he could stop and rest soon. He pressed on a little further, shifting back to human form as he walked, fire red gold hair falling into his eyes as his large wings pressed close at his sides.
Finally, Alex found a good spot to bunk down. Clearing a space, he set up his small, one person tent. Satisfied, he placed his bag inside and went to gather some fire wood.
Firiko eventually shifted back to wolf form, his wings still pressed against his sides as he walked, only this time hunting.
Alex made his way back to his campsite, dropping his bundle of kindling, sticks, and logs with a clatter. He plopped down, pulling his flint and steel out of his pocket.
Firiko kept going, having caught and eaten by the end of half an hour. He kept going in that form, heading in no particular direction as he looked for a place to stay.
By now, Alex had gotten a nice fire going, and was cooking his canned pork and beans. he stirred occasionally, whistling the whole while.
Firiko stopped, lifting his nose to the air as he smelled a campfire. Curious, he padded after the scent.
Alex smelled his cooking dinner.
"I think it's ready!" He said with a grin. He poured the food into his can and placed the hot pan on the ground next to the fire. After saying a few words under his breath, he dipped his spoon in and took a bite.
"Hot, hot, HOT!" He nearly dumped his food as he grabbed his water bottle. He chugged, trying to cool off his tongue.
"I'll wait till this cools down…"
Firiko padded up to a small clearing, which held a one man tent, and a guy with his campfire. He stayed hidden as he watched the other nearly burn himself, trying not to laugh.
Alex stirred the fire, growing bored as he waited for his food to cool. He reached into the tent, pulling out a book. It was thin, and well worn. He flipped through it once, then turned to the first page.
Firiko watched for a moment long, before finally moving out of the trees, curiosity overcoming his concerns about scaring him, due to his unnatural colorings, and size.
Alex didn't notice Firiko right away. Instead, he was quietly whispering the words of the book to himself. He was saying them too low for Firiko to hear the words, though.
(Remember enhanced hearing..)
Firiko couldn't make out the words he was mumbling, but he did pad a bit closer, his paws almost silent on the forest floor.
(Exactly. That's how softly Alex is speaking)
"…And Mama Wolf said to Papa Wolf, 'Where is our son?' And Papa Wolf replied, 'He's out playing with that Hood girl.' Mama Wolf became distraught…" Alex quietly read.
Firiko crept a little bit closer, his paws flattening the grass, a small twig snapping under his back paw.
Alex's head wiped up.
"Hello?" He asked in an innocent voice.
Firiko froze, just on the other side of the flames, his ears up and alert as his blue-green eyes locked on the other.
Alex stared into Firiko's eyes.
"Um…" He wasn't sure what to do.
Firiko stayed quiet, shifting carefully, ending up down on one knee, wings held up and wary, his eyes still locked on the other.
Alex grew fidgety under Firiko's gaze and looked away. He put his book down and picked up his food again, slightly nervous.
Firiko was surprised that the other didn't freak, and he studied him quietly. "You new in this area?" He asked finally.
"Yeup." Alex took a bite of his food. Thankfully, it had cooled down. It scalded his tongue, but it wasn't so bad he couldn't eat it.
"I-I'm just passing through, though."
"Me too… On the passing through bit…" he said shyly, "Uhm… Where are you headed?"
"Mount Saigo no Shi." Alex motioned in the mountains general direction. He was starting to warm up to Firiko.
"I'm Alex."
"Firiko" he said, sitting down carefully, his wings stretching out to either side of him.
"Oh! That's such a cool name!" Alex smiled.
"Really?" said Firiko, his eyes studying the other.
"Meah!" Alex said, his mouth full of beans and pork. He swallowed.
"Your wings are pretty cool too!"
