Ash came out of his thoughts and looked at the guy. He thought he was talking to him. Oh whatever if he embarrassed himself by misunderstanding whatever. "Yeah? Need something?"

"That song you were humming…" said Firiko quietly, not sure how to go about this. "That… that's my soulmate's song…" he said.

Ash didn't know what exactly to say. He had no idea what to actually do. So of course, he froze. He froze right in front of his soulmate. Wow, this guy must think he is a total loser now.

Firiko looked him over, dying of embarrassment. He really wanted to hide in his wings, wishing it hadn't been this awkward. Stars I'm such a weirdo…

"Um… Nice to officially meet you? I'm Ash…" Ash said not knowing exactly what to do. But what was he to do. He was meeting his soulmate for the first time. He was so awkward about this though.

"F-Firiko.." he said, mentally cursing himself for stuttering. "Gods… why does no one tell you It's this awkward?" He muttered.

Ash started laughing not at Firiko but at himself and his awkwardness. Why did social anxiety exist?

Firiko looked up at him, studying the other for a moment, "Uhm.. d-do you wanna go somewhere more private?"

"Yeah…." Ash had no idea what he was doing or why he agreed to go somewhere more private with this stranger. For all he knew this guy might kill him.

Firiko got up shyly, blushing slightly. "Uhm…do we know of anywhere nearby and quiet to go to?" He asked, looking out at the rain.

"No not really. I live about 2 miles away so that is kinda far…" Ash really was nervous and had no idea what to do. He never actually ever thought he would meet his soulmate.

Firiko nodded, "Uhm… we could try my place… it's a few blocks from here.." he suggested, Though it's a huge mess….

"…um alright. " Ash replied thinking please don't kill me. He really hoped this guy wasn't going to murder him.

Firiko looked over at hom, "You okay?"

"Yeah just contemplating whether or not you are going to kill me." Ash replied and laughed nervously.

"Wait what?" Firiko looked at him in confusion. "Why would I do that?!"

"I don't know. Maybe because I am really awkward and not great around people. Also I am always contemplating possibilities of stuff, so I keep thinking you will kill me." He replied nervously.

"Hey.. I can tell you right now I'm not gonna kill you okay?" said Firiko, "Awkwardness I get… but that's a little extreme…"

"Ok, and good." Ash replied and smiled at him.

Firiko nodded, "Uhm… so.. my place then?"

"Yeah, your place." He said and nodded.

Firiko nodded, heading for the door, his wings tightening so they wouldn't get completely soaked.

Ash followed and decided it would be fine to get a little wet.

Firiko lifted a wing over the other as soon as they were outside, holding it over Ash to try and keep him somewhat dry.

Ash looked at Firiko, "You don't have to do that, rain won't kill me."

Firiko shrugged, "I'm gonna get wet either way, there's no reason you have to.." he said, "Anyway, my apartment is that way.." he gestured down the street.

"Um, alright." Ash said and nodded then looked down the street.

Firiko started moving off, going slow so the other could keep up.

Ash kept up pace with Firiko easily.

Firiko led him down a few blocks, making sure to shield the other with his wing as they walked. About 20 minutes later he led the other inside a small apartment building, "My apartement is on the top floor.." he said.
