"How about yes, or I'll incinerate you"
"How about yes, or I'll incinerate you"
She stopped walking. "You're feisty," she deadpanned. "Maybe I should spare you…" A burning cloud of green broke away from her airy figure and went towards Firiko, now half invisible.
Firiko shielded, a burst of flames taking him to the other side of the clearing in an instant.
The spirit whirled on him, what looked like a smile seeping onto her face. "You have tricks too, do you?" she whispered breathily, inching back towards the aura-man.
Firiko kept his face calm showing only a hint of annoyance. "This would be a lot easier if you simply told me what I need to know." he said calmly.
"Ease," she started, carving a line of bark out of a tree with a flick of her pinky, "is dull. We spirits enjoy a challenge. But then…" she taunted, "You'd know that.
Firiko sighed, "Figures…" he said, "So, what do you want?"
"I want a challenge," the spirit drawled. "Injure me and I will tell you what you need."
Firiko glared, "Seriously?" he said. Finally he rolled his eyes and drew his blade. The sword was shaped almost like captain hooks, but the curve was not so severe, and the tip unified, and the edge jagged. It was also made of a platinum colored metal, carved with runes.
i put up a picture if yiu wanna see
(Where is it?)
The spirit whistled in amusement. "Ah, a runed blade? Would you know how to use it, mortal?"
(You're really pretty!!!)
The spirit whistled in amusement. "Ah, a runed blade? Would you know how to use it, mortal?"
"Use it? I forged it" he said flatly. "And it's designed to fight off magical beings." he setteled into a fighting stance as if it was second nature.
(You're really pretty!!!)
(OOF)
(thank you)
(You're welcome!!)
A slight jitter of fear passed over the spirit's face, though she passed it off as a smirk. "Come at me, then."
Firiko nodded, a burst of flame and he was behind the spirit, his blade glowing silver as he whipped it towards the woman.
With a slight hiss she suddenly stood a few meters away, intensely staring the warrior down.
Firiko easily regained his footing, perfectly balanced where he was. His eyes hardened with determination and he did it again this time lungin for her in wolf form, shifting to use his blade as soon as he was close enough.
In a single graceful movement the spirit flipped up and over Firiko's body– but not before his blade scratched her arm. Before she could land the gash had healed back into a smooth green reflection.
Firiko whirled to continue his attack as she lept over him, blade searching to injure the way a snake would look for prey.
They were facing each other now, eye to eye. "You're not a bad fighter, are you?" the spirit hissed, her translucent body warping in the falling daylight.
Firiko huffed "I know.. and I don't plan on giving up.." he said, lunging for her again.`
This time the spirit retracted into a floating green orb, and with an echoing, manic laugh she flew in circles around Firiko's head, finally reverting to her human form now sat in a tree, a mere meter from the earth.
Firiko growled, his wings flaring as he lept for another tree, grabbing onto the nearest branch and pulling himself up so he was balanced in a higher one. His eyes hadn't left the spirit for even an instant, and carefully he judged his distance.
With a cruel enjoyment the spirit watched the man leap to a tree opposite her and swing himself up onto a branch.
He was now looking between their two positions, and the spirit frowned– what a strange move.
Firiko smirked, Shouldn't have taken to the trees… he thought, his wings flaring a little. Finally he lept from the branch, gaining speed easily as he went for her, shifting to wolf form as he shot towards her.
The spirit took a second to admire his wingspan before he was suddenly barrelling towards her, and she only had the chance to leap to her feet before he crashed onto her, landing on her exposed leg.
With a feral shriek she vapourised, reappearing on the ground in her natural form– a warped, bark-skinned stump of a creature with moss sprouting of what would be its head and a single eye resembling a murky puddle of water.
