Wondering how one does both…

Simply, I believe God made LGBTQ+ people the way they are because that’s how He wanted them to be

I mean because Catholic teaching is against that stuff.

Yeah…
My personal opinion is God doesn't care. Christians believe He made everyone the way they are. Why would He create LGBTQ people if He didn't, like, want them, or if he was against them?

He also created Hitler… (not saying that lgbt guys are bad people) so your argument doesn’t really work.

I'm not questioning the morality or the truths of the Bible, I'm just saying that the Bible was written a long time ago. There's a lot of things that have changed, such as how women are treated in society. Women can vote, work in jobs, and have more freedom in marriage now. Of course, you're totally right. I'm just voicing my thoughts, whether they're totally off or maybe on point. I understand I still have A LOT to learn and I have A LOT of growth to do.

So what is your point? And change doesn’t matter to God as he can see all times.

All bad things are for a reason too, a theme showed often in the bible. To learn we first need to make mistakes. Hitler was one of society's BIG mistakes, but we've made lots of changes to prevent something like that in the future.

Exactly!

This follows the thought that Lgbt peeps are “born that way” which there is no evidence for (as well as some decent proof against (ehhh… sortofish.)

Do you mean {and I'm saying this with full respect} you believe LGBTQ just wake up one day, and are gay?

@Althalosian-is-the-father book

Whoa whoa whoa! You can’t take that line! (Well… I mean, you can.) Good can come from bad sure. But bad comes from Satan, not God. Like, what is the reason for horrible things because I’m editing for sensitive people?

Nah. I think it’s a very gradual thing that can spring from trauma, (no offense hopefully) a twisted sense of sexuality (think kids raised on porn), and social pressure, which is where we get the kids that were homophobes three years ago that now have pride flags everywhere.

I'm not saying BAD bad stuff like that…
you know what this is too confusing
Christianity has way too many variations and mindsets for everyone to agree and work together about some things.

Agree to disagree But you think it's wrong?

Yes. But I am quite sympathetic to them, especially all of them that didn’t want it but feel like they have no choice.

Alright, maybe I shouldn't have asked about LGBTQ+ because this conversation has obviously not been pleasant.

I’m fine. If someone else is not feeling good we can stop now.

I'm gonna be dead serious. Love y'all.
But I'm bisexual.
And I know you guys don't mean it to be hurtful, but I'm low-key getting a bit upset.

I'm gonna stop saying "they," I'm bisexual and I have no reason to be afraid of admitting it just because this is a Christan chat.
Dommy, ily, but we don't have a choice. Love isn't a choice. Can you just choose to start being attracted to males? No. And the only reason we need sympathy is because a lot of people treat us like crap.

Oh Miriam! We can stop if you want.

Haha, yeah… If you don't mind that would be nice.

I'm sorry, I just mean it spiraled off into a more serious and confusing discussion. I totally support you, my best friend is bi, and I love all of my LGBTQ+ friends to death, but maybe this wasn't the chat to have such a serious discussion about it as it brings up a lot of different beliefs and then conflicts.

Yeah, and y'all kept it respectful, but my church is very strict and already makes me feel like crap.
I feel like we have better things to discuss anyway <3

listen,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you don't have to believe that everything you're taught is true

can we please stop I'm sick of being called a sinner for my sexuality

theinnocentchild

I think God made people in his own image, but because all people are born in sin cause of satan, they think they are something that they might not be. It is because of the sin in the world and how people take it. They think they are, you know like homosexual or something else, when God has a different identity for them that they either don't know about or won't take. They don't know who they truly are. At least that's what I think

theinnocentchild

I mean for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. He loves us anyway. I think that's crazy. Like God knew we would sin and he knew we would mess up, but he still loves us. I love thinking that when Jesus was on the cross, He thought about me and about you guys and about everyone and thought about how worth it dying on the cross was because then he could spend time with us because he loves us so much. It just gives us so many more reasons to love him.

Okay I love you but are you really saying you believe we aren't actually gay

@Jay-Marae-is-in-an-emotional-maze

(Just saying some really good books about remembering ones identity and place in God’s heart is “The Choosing” and “When Through Deep Waters” by Rachelle Dekker they are really good and you should totally read them and I know I already brought them up twice but they are SOOO good and really helped me with some things so please I’m begging you read themmmmm)
