"Jared. Out. Now." Leah said, pointing to the door.
"Jared. Out. Now." Leah said, pointing to the door.
Kameo's mouth fell open and he bit his lip, trying not to yell or cry or both, drawing blood.
Joanna took a deep breath. "I'm sorry." She choked out. "I should have held my temper."
Ryan was still confused. So this 'Ace' was Kameo's best friend…and now he's dead? He didn't ask questions, not wanting to worsen the situation.
"Listen, I get that you're sad, but everyone move on! We're pirates for god's sake, and my old friend Nova (Referance to my novel, sorry) would have moved on by now! This is life!"
“October 4th. Five years ago. I— my dad was trying to——“ she clenched her fists, hating how weak her voice sounded. “I told him no. I should’ve known better than to refuse.” Her voice shook and a single tear trickled down her face. “He took it out on David. I was too weak to stop him. It was my fault.” The tears were coming faster now, hot and plentiful.
"Well we're not you or your friend. Just because we're pirates, doesn't mean we don't have feelings. And I believe Cap has given you an order."
"Give people time to mourn, at least." Ryan responded. "I don't even know this dude, but he seems pretty important to these guys." He guestured to the crew. "Keep your opinions to yourself."
"Sometimes it's hard to move on, got it? This is hard on everyone, and we don't need some stupid ass comments to make it worse." Leah countered, regretting how harsh she was. "Sorry, I didn't mean to lose my temper."
"Well, small kid, you're halfway right. Mourning is good, but I have the right to voice my opinions even if they offend."
Kameo left the room, deciding to go to his lab where he could cry and scream in peace.
"Also, I have emotions turned on low, you're not offending me." Jared said.
“It wasn’t your fault, it was your father’s..” Lucian said softly, hating how upset it made her. He shifted his chair so he was closer to her, now able to wrap his arms around her.
Ryan watched the boy, Kameo, leave. He tried to get Joanna's attention, pointing to the boy as he left.
Morrigan instinctively flinched when he touched her, half-thinking he was going to strangle her from instinct. She quickly sank into the hug. “But I made him mad. Fighting him when he tried to hurt Davy after only made it worse. He wouldn’t have killed him if I had been good.”
"Jared," Daso said, his voice deadly calm, "if you don't shut your damn mouth in three seconds I'll shut your mouth myself."
"When the hell did I care whether or not you're offended."
"Also, I have emotions turned on low, you're not offending me." Jared said.
(Someone make a joke about this.)
"I don't care what's going on with your emotion dials, but do not talk to anyone on this ship like that." Leah answered, her gaze hard.
"Well, I'm the deadliest woman in the room, so you might wanna care."
"How low do you have your pain turned too?" Cicada growled at Jared. Kameo had left and Cicada was itching for a fight.
"Pain is at zero, always is."
Kameo walked back into his lab and opened up a fresh page to his diary, hands shaking.
Dearly Departed.
Ace is dead.
He closed the book, not caring if the ink smudged and laid himself down on the bed, tears crawling down his cheeks.
"Well I don't. I'm sick and tired of you constantly bouncing back and forth between Flirting and death threats."
Ryan sighed and stood up to follow the boy. He looked around in each room, trying to figure out where he went.
(I have to go now bye!)
Daso's eye twitched. "Cap? Why did we let Jared join this crew?"
"I swear if you say one more thing, Jared, I will throw you off this goddamn ship." Leah practically yelled.
( I have a feeling Leah's going to get in a fight, tsk tsk. )
(She's not alone though.)
Daso's eye twitched. "Cap? Why did we let Jared join this crew?"
"I'm sexy, that's why." Jared joked.
