He headed back to her apartment in less than 5 minutes
She smiled when she read his next message and couldn't help but smile.
I'll try my best but no promises, go on inside if you get there before me
She picked up her pace a little and was soon back at her apartment, though she could tell he had beaten her there, "The shish-kabobs have entered the apartment," She called with a laugh when she stepped inside.
He glanced up from the couch and grinned "Proceed with caution." He warned with a laugh, standing and helping her with the food
Scarlett laughed and handed two of the four to him, "I didn't know how many to get," She said, wandering to the small kitchen to grab a plate and something to drink.
He smiled "2 is fine, I've been dared to eat up to 12 from Keith before though." He laughed and sat down, leaving room for scarlet
She chuckled and rolled her eyes, sitting down next to him, "Leaving you two together alone is not smartest decision that could be made."
He laughed and nodded "no Most definitely not. Though I am proud to say that I've only eaten one spicy food, not counting the ghost pepper we've eaten since I've known him."
"Well I mean, I do have a bag of spicy doritos in my kitchen if you want to try more spicy food," She offered jokingly, trying the shish-kabob cautiously.
He shook his head "No…no thank you. You can enjoy all those Doritos. I'm good." he took a bite of the Shish Kabob
She laughed and shrugged, "Your loss, they're really good. These are really good too though." She waved one of the shish kabobs and continued eating it, "Remind me to get them more often."
He nodded "I will, don't worry. It'll be too soon if I eat anything even Mildly spicy."
Scarlett nodded in return, a small smile on her face as she dug into the food and started humming softly.
He glanced at her and smiled, starting to eat his own food "It's good, right?"
“Really good,” She agreed between bites, smiling back at him and relaxing into the couch, “How did I never know that stand was there?”
"It's pretty recent so I don't think many know who they are yet." He leaned back and leaned against her shoulder
She didn’t move away when he leaned against her, instead leaning against him as well, “That would be why, they do seem pretty new and I’ve been to that park before but not recently.”
He nodded, wrapping his free hand around her and tugging her close "we need to get out of the house, at least for more than a few minutes."
“I go outside and out of my house,” She replied, “When I have time…and energy….ok, maybe I don’t go outside as much as I should.” She shrugged and polished off the rest of her food.
"It's a miracle you leave the house at all." he said kissing her temple. "It's a good thing you camer to the internship."
She rolled her eyes but nodded, “Yeah, the internship is helping me not spend so much time on homework, which in turn means just that much more time spent outside my house.”
"THe benefits of having a job as well as being a student." he said cheerfully, sarcasm laced within
“Did you have an internship while you went to college?” She asked, setting the sticks from the food on the side table before snuggling closer to him and wrapping an arm around his waist.
He nodded, glancing at her with a small from. "I interned at Lindseys restaurant. They needed and acoustic guitar player for a bit and I offered to play. The pay wasn't that good but it was fun, and I enjoyed doing it."
She nodded, smiling at him and jokingly asking, “Did you get free food?”
He snorted and shook his head "Sort of since Lindsy wasn't well known in the restaurant, her manager didn't let her pass out free food. So i had to pay half and play over designated hours to pay back the rest." He shrugged, "Hard but worth it."
“Food is always worth it.” She smiled, shifting around to a comfortable spot and resting against him.
"mostly, yes, yes it is." He agreed, tugging her close and finishing off his own food
Scarlett closed her eyes lightly and didn’t object to being close to him. “When is food not worth it?” She asked as a joke, knowing what his answer would probably be.
"when it costs more than clothing." He muttered with a small laugh, nuzzling her hair
She nodded slightly, an impressed look on her face, “True, true, I thought you were going to say when it’s too spicy though:”
