Karkota was shocked she'd actually answered him. He half expected her to pull out a knife and tell him to shut up. "So what then? Dance? Instruments?"

@Dirt

Karkota raised his brows at her grumbling. Though her threat didn't really get her point across. "And how are you gonna do that? Kiss me?" Immediately he wanted to jump out of the car. A panicked look on his face, as if he hadn't expected himself to say that.

She looked at him with a brow raised in amusement. "Funny how that's the first thing that comes to your mind." She then smirked. "Who knows? I just might. By the looks of it, it'd be effective."

@Dirt

He seemed to physically deflate in his seat at her words. Flirting with the enemy, how stupid of him.
"Well I mean, yeah that'd probably work." He said quietly, watching her for any movement. He didn't know if she was joking or not.

Tessa opened her mouth to say something, but closed it and turned as the car slowed to a stop. "Home sweet home, " she muttered, opening her door and slipping out. She rounded the car and opened his door, ushering Karkota out. "Let's go."

@Dirt

"Well here's the thing, what if I don't want to get out of the car?" Karkota offered an smile that only made him seem like a little kid.
But of course after staring at her for a few moments quickly hopped out. He grumbled a bit at how weak that was. Saying something then doing exactly what he was told.

The house was relatively large–a two-story townhouse with a covered porch and was quite clearly well cared for. Plenty of windows were seen, and a large fenced in backyard was tucked behind some large trees and shrubbery.
She put a hand on his back and led him towards the porch and front door.

@Dirt

"You live here alone?" Karkota asked while trying to twist away from her hand. He didn't nescacerly like being led anywhere, and it didn't help that it was someone who was keeping him prisoner.

@ElderGod-kirky group

"What's it to you?" she asked, if a bit snippier than she had intended. She dropped her hand but kept a careful eye on him to make sure he didn't try to make a break for it.

@Dirt

"Well it'd be nice to know. Someone might pop up and give me a heart attack. Wouldn't want me dying on you now would you?" He shot her a joking grin.
Of course running was on karkota's mind, but where would he go? The cops where a no go for obvious reasons, and anyone else might think he escaped a prison. He silently cursed at the handcuffs.

@ElderGod-kirky group

She rolled her eyes and grabbed his wrist, marching up the steps and dragging him behind her. When she reached the door, she grabbed the key that was on a chain tucked under her shirt. "Yes, I live alone."

@Dirt

"Don't get all handsy on me now." He pulled away and gave a short dry laugh. "I've got no where to run to, you forget that. Manaʻoʻo iaʻaʻole e hoʻokuʻu iaʻu ināʻaʻoleʻoe e makaʻu iaʻu."

(I just went and saw what google translate made of all that and I'm laugh so hard. Oh gosh, anyway so I'm just gonna translate that to what I hope it says.
"Though I would run if you didn't scare me so much.")

"Desperate people do stupid things. Idiots do even dumber things. I'm not risking it." She unlocked her house and gestured for Karkota to go first. A distant barking was heard from the backyard.

@Dirt

"I'm not an idiot." He mumbled angrily as he walked in the house. The sound barking throwing him off. "Please tell me its a very small slow dog thats barking. That or you're neighbor's dog! yeah, neighbor's dog, please." Karkota looked slightly panicked.

@Dirt

"Oh gosh." His panic grew. For some strange reason Karkota never liked dogs. Especially big ones, they absolutely freaked him out. "Does she eat people?"

@ElderGod-kirky group

Tessa rolled her eyes. "She's a dog, not a freaking t-rex." She walked further into the house–they were currently standing in the kitchen–pulling off her hoodie. The action pulled up her shirt as well, revealing some portions of scars along her back that looked eerily similar to that of a mark a whip would make.

@Dirt

He rolled his eyes at her remark. He looked around the kitchen, "so I'm kinda hungry can-" he cut short at the sight of her scars. "Did they do that?" He asked quietly, not sure if he wanted her to hear him.

@ElderGod-kirky group

She quickly straightened and pulled down her shirt, glaring over her shoulder as she chucked the sweatshirt somewhere random. "No." The word left no room for debate.

@Dirt

Karkota frowned, but didn't push the subject. "Right, so are you ever gonna take these off me or are they part of me now?" He held up his hands ratalling that handcuffs, and showing off a burn scar that took up most of his left hand.

@ElderGod-kirky group

Tessa came up to him and took off the handcuffs, being surprisingly gentle considering her usual hostility. She set them on a random counter. "I'll give you this warning just once: If you think about doing anything that might cause me to go after you, I'd suggest not doing it. I don't have the mental energy to be nice."
She looked him dead in the eye, her golden eyes narrowed challengingly.

@Dirt

He smiled kindly at her and rubbed his wrists. "Thanks." He said, stuffing his burnt hand in his pocket. He'd never really been happy to show it off like he did. But in a way it was his way of saying he'd gotten hurt in this business too. "I don't plan on it. Something tells me this will be less stressful then being at my own home."

@ElderGod-kirky group

She didn't say anything to that, just turned around and grabbed her cell phone, punching in a number and putting it on speaker phone. "Hello, this is McDonald's!" came a chipper voice. "How may I help you?"
Tessa leaned against the island counter. "Hi, this is Theresa Hunt."
"Oh! So your usual, then, Miss Hunt?" Tessa looked at Karkota with raised brows.

@Dirt

Karkota looked at her for a moment dumbfounded, as he tended to be slow sometimes.
He formed an O shape with his mouth when he realised and quickly said, "a burger?" More of a question, but he wasn't really sure.

@ElderGod-kirky group

She rolled her eyes and said, "And an extra quarter pounder, if you would."
"Okay!" the chipper girl was silent for a bit, and then she rattled off the high price. "Would you like us to deliver?"
"Yes, please. I'm a bit busy at the moment, so it would be greatly appreciated."
"Okay! We'll have it right up! Have a nice day!" Tessa said a quick 'thank you' before hanging up.

@Dirt

"So you are capable of talking to someone with out threatening them?" Karkota laughed at his own joke. Though he did feel kinda bad for teasing her.
"I'm assuming you get McDonald's often if you have a usual?"

@ElderGod-kirky group

"I'm capable of talking to someone that doesn't piss me off every second." She shot a glare at Karkota. "And I'll have you know that I like to eat, and McDonald's is convenient." The barking increased and Tessa headed outside briefly.
The back door opened, and something tore through the kitchen and bolted for Karkota. It was Stella, Tessa's Pitbull.
Stella slid to a stop at his feet, looking up at him with her tongue hanging out.

(Exactly like this)

@Dirt

Karkota cursed, and pushed himself as far away from the dog as possible, basically climbing on the counter. "Go away." He said to the dog. Panic in his voice and on his face.
He looked down at Stella, wondering if she was gonna jump up and rip his face off. "Um, a little help?" He asked Tessa. Hopping she wouldn't just laugh and leave him to be eaten by Stella the dog.

@ElderGod-kirky group

Tess covered her mouth and wrapped an arm around her stomach in an attempt to smother her laughter, leaning against a counter as she watched Karkota freak out about her adorable Stella. The dog whined and tilted her head, wondering why he was acting the way he was. While Stella was a Pitbull, she was probably the most attention-craving and gentlest dog Tessa has ever seen. Hence why she rescued her from the pound.
