uhh…a christian?
I think I'm AG or something but I don't really know or care I mean Jesus is Jesus and if you believe he's savior then you're going to heaven no matter what "kind" of christian you are. At least that's what I think, but I know that there are some differences between the different "kinds" of christianity. But yeah I think I'm AG.
Also, you can call me Maggie, short for Magnolia

Idk what AG stands for but that's basically me and I've heard it said "non-denominational" and I go to a "non-denominational" church too.
(Riverview!!!)
But I also believe that you also have to do some good along with accepting Jesus as your savior to go to heaven if that makes sense. (By doing some good I mean you can't just believe in Jesus/ accept Jesus then go do drugs or something.)

Also, a random conversation starter, what do you guys think about LGBTQ+?
I have lots of bi or gay friends and some trans friends, but whenever religion comes up its kind of awkward because I know quite a bit of homophobia comes from extremist or overly religious Christians. My trans friend had to deal with a lot of homophobia from his soccer coach before he started using he/him pronouns and my bestest friend who is bi has told me before that she was wary of some Christian people.

agh that's the thing I have a lot of friends who are bi or pan or like anything like that, and I know that that's not really how God intended it, but that's something you could lose friends over. That's the thing if you guys know Lauren Daigle, she got a lotta hate because she supported people like that. In my personal opinion, I think they don't know who exactly they are. I mean the people I know who are bi and pan and that stuff are in like middle school and high school. That's when you find who you are, and that's when you could find who you think you are and not really who you really are. Cause if we find our identity in Christ, I'm pretty sure we would be straight. At least that's how I see it.

I say that the Bible does not agree with gays etc. so neither do I. Afraid people will think I hate gays again. But it’s not like I bear any ill will to lgbt folks. My best friend here is bi.

NOT TRYING TO CHANGE YOUR BELIEFS OR ANYTHING but where in the Bible does it say that?

Wondering how one does both…

Simply, I believe God made LGBTQ+ people the way they are because that’s how He wanted them to be

I totally love that. Christianity is a cycle of remembering and forgetting so thank you for reminding me that God makes everyone equal and makes everything for a reason because just saying that kind of solved my internal conflict about LGBTQ+.
Also, a good book about that cycle is "When Through Deep Waters" and "The Choosing" by Rachelle Dekker along with the two books that follow it. (I know I've already mentioned these books but they are SO GOOD and I totally recommend them.)

I mean because Catholic teaching is against that stuff.

Yeah…
My personal opinion is God doesn't care. Christians believe He made everyone the way they are. Why would He create LGBTQ people if He didn't, like, want them, or if he was against them?

Also, since some people would say that since it's in the Bible that's wrong, but look at it like this.
When the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution and the Amendments they didn't get everything right the first time. They changed and erased a lot of things. Maybe it's the same in the Bible. Society has changed and something that was okay a couple of centuries ago might be totally illegal now or vice versa.

This follows the thought that Lgbt peeps are “born that way” which there is no evidence for (as well as some decent proof against (ehhh… sortofish.)

I'm not questioning the morality or the truths of the Bible, I'm just saying that the Bible was written a long time ago. There's a lot of things that have changed, such as how women are treated in society. Women can vote, work in jobs, and have more freedom in marriage now. Of course, you're totally right. I'm just voicing my thoughts, whether they're totally off or maybe on point. I understand I still have A LOT to learn and I have A LOT of growth to do.
