"Well, I get why he would run this place then. He must be decently loaded, just from this crowd." She walked towards the crowd a little, not really knowing where she was going.
"Well, I get why he would run this place then. He must be decently loaded, just from this crowd." She walked towards the crowd a little, not really knowing where she was going.
He came up to her side and grabbed her hand again, leading her to a semi-empty area. The two fighters were still going at it, dodging more than hitting.
She watched the fight out of the corner of her eye as he led her to the empty area, questions popping into her mind somewhat quickly.
Rhydar looked over at her. "I can see those gears moving in your head. What's on your mind?"
"Just questions, that's it," She replied, looking up at him before back to the fight.
"And what would they be?" he inquired, sliding an arm around her waist.
She leaned against him, his arm around her waist slightly comforting, "Have you ever been in a ring like that to fight?"
"How do you think I learned?" he asked, only kinda joking. "Yeah, a few. It was mainly to get my mind off of some things going on in life. I only trained and was part of only a single fight. That was all I needed."
Jynna thought about his answer for a moment before asking the next, "Next question, do you know a ton of people here?"
"Eh, no. I know like… two people. The owner and one of the retired fighters. I'm basically unknown here." He tugged her close when one guy eyeballed her a little too long for his liking.
“Alright, I’m out of questions for now, I’ll definitely have more later though.” She didn’t object to be pulled closer to him, instead snaking her own arm around him as well.
He chuckled. "Wouldn't doubt it." He watched the fight, making mental notes on how they fought and who he thought would win. One looked like they were closer to tapping out due to sheer exhaustion.
She smiled and went silent, wincing slightly whenever they landed a punch in the fight. Her smile grew whenever one got closer to winning and she was almost sure Rhydar could feel the excitement coursing through her.
He looked down at her as she watched the two fighters, the corner of his lips lifting up in a kind half-smile as he saw how excited she looked. This girl was something else. Most would be hiding behind him and begging him to take them home–and then never talk to him for the rest of the week. Jynna… Jynna was a mystery that intrigued him and that made him want to find out more whenever he learned something new about her.
The fight seemed to be getting less intense after a while but Jynna still was just as excited, completely curious as to who would win.
One of the fighters pinned the other beneath him, and the one that was pinned tapped out. The crowd had mixed reactions, but the energy in the air was still charged. Money was passed around, the fighters were dismissed with a dramatic farewell, and a small break was allowed before the next fight began.
“How many fights do they have a night?” She asked suddenly as the question came to mind. She looked up at him in question, her arm still wrapped around him.
"Three, I believe. More if there's a good audience." He smiled down at her, still happy that she wasn't running away. She was curious, and he liked that about her.
She nodded, smiling back at him before looking around at the crowd. This place was interesting and she wanted to see if there was more to discover, though she doubted Rhydar would let her out of his sights.
"There's a snack bar as well as an actual bar for the breaks in between," he told her. "At a relatively cheap price considering the surprisingly good quality."
“Really? Where are the bars?” She glanced up at him then around to try to find the bar or snack bar.
He tugged on her waist to get her to follow, then led her through a wide hall that opened up to a large cafeteria-like space. Two bars were set up side to side–one serving alcoholic beverages, the other serving snacks and normal beverages.
She looked around at the two bars, trying to decide which one she should go to first, "Are you going to get anything?" She asked, reaching to grab her phone and the money she kept stashed in the case.
"Nah, I'm good. What about you?" He eyed the bags of cheesy popcorn, considering changing his mind and buying some of that.
"Probably, I just have to decide what." With her phone in hand, she started towards the snack bar, deciding she could get a drink from the bar later. She popped the twenty out of her case and tucked the phone back away, "You sure you don't want anything? I'm buying."
"Well in that case," he said jokingly, coming up behind her and giving the guy on the other side of the counter a friendly nod. He came here often enough to be friendly with the staff. "I'm thinking about getting some of that cheesy popcorn. Maybe some Twizzlers."
She slid the twenty to the guy working on the other side of he counter with a smile before glancing at Rhydar, "How about both?" Turning back to the other guy she placed her order, "A bag of cheesy popcorn, some twizzlers, and two snickers."
The guy winked at Rhydar as he said to Jynna. "Figures. This guy has quite the sweet tooth when it comes to cheesy stuff." Rhydar scowled at him and huffed as he crossed his arms. The guy laughed and went to grab the stuff Jynna asked for. "You're a lucky little lady. Managed to ensnare the badass Rhy."
"I don't know about that, I think he ensnared me first," She replied with a laugh and a shrug of her shoulders, "Though he is badass, that's for sure."
The guy laughed and handed her the items, taking the twenty and grabbing the change from the cash register. "He might've gotten you first, but I had yet to see him bowing to a lady's wishes."
