"I'm sorry!" She yelled. "You grow up with Spanish parents! They feel the need to repeat everything about 5 times! I guess it rubbed off on me." She defended herself verbally, but kept an eye on him just in case.

He shook the remaining bits of ice from his arms and grunted, cracking his knuckles. "My apartment is on the ground floor."
Then, without another word, he stepped of the edge of the building and into a freefall.
He lives in the same apartment building as my parents, Avery thought quickly, eyes widening at the thought. Her parents would be terrified if they knew, so she made up her mind not to tell them. She sped down the side of the building and out to the front, changing back into citizen clothes as she did. She didn't want anyone suspecting her as an accomplice.
He landed back first onto the concrete with a BOOM!, his body digging into the sidewalk a good 6 inches in. He grinned inside of his mask, knowing it was a jarring experience to see a normal-looking guy survive a 40 foot freefall.
She walked beside the building, leaning against the wall as she looked at him. "Now I think you're just showing off," She said, watching as he stood up. She stared at him, face essentially emotionless. "Come on. Show the way."
He got out of the ground. He had left the indent of his body into the asphalt about an inch deep.
"I'm guessing you won't trust being in an elevator with me?" he asked, brushing off a bit of gravel from his arms.
