SHe laughed lightly and headed back towards the forest "Never going to happen dragon."
SHe laughed lightly and headed back towards the forest "Never going to happen dragon."
Kerrian huffed again and curled more around her neck, preserving her warmth.
"don't stangle me," she said over her shoulder at him, actually enjoying the warmth. They headed into the forest and walked through the trees. Val skimmed her hands along the tree bark before coming to stop near a river
"Curses, you caught on to my evil plan," Kerrian muttered, opening an eye.
She laughed softly and sat near the banks of the river "I'm sorry for spoiling your plans but you're going to have to get in line. You're not the first who wants me dead and you won't be the last." She picked at the grass and furrowed her brow in thought
"Stop frowning so hard, Majesty. It's no good to dwell on what might be or what once was," He sighed softly, "My human needs to learn that, too."
She lauhged softly "I know, but its so much easier than accepting your mistakes. Sometimes I feel like the world would have been better off without a Fae queen to rule them. My husband could've found someone he truely loved and the kindomes could finally be at peace."
Kerrian was quiet for a moment, "I'm sure your husband loves you, Majesty. You two might've been through some tough times, but you'll move past it and love each other the way you used to."
"I never stopped, even when I locked him up so he didn't have to see the monster his queen had turned into, so he didn't have to bear the destruction I caused." She bit back a growl of pain and clutched her stomach
“He loved you, Val. He does but he’s just too stubborn to admit it…” Kerrigan grumbled.
"how do you know? Hm? Plus even if by some miracle you do know, you said "loved" meaning not anymore." She stood, frustrated with herself
“I meant love, idiot,” Kerrigan huffed, rolling his eyes, “And him and I are best friends, I know everything.”
She glared back at Kerrian, "careful with your words dragon." She said softly, not mad but not appreciatiNg being called an idiot "you can't possibly know everything he knows."
“Oh you’d be surprised fae with just how much I do.” He replied, sighing and closing his eyes.
"I'm sure I would be," she muttered, fidgeting with her sleeves "tired?" she asked, glancing at him
The dragooned rumbled a response, though it was most definitely a yes before he spoke, “Yes, but I should be getting on and you should be getting back to the castle.”
Val smiled softly and nodded, taking Kerrian from her shoulders and putting him down. "I hope we meet again in a new time of peace Kerrian." She bowed in respect to the dragon and shifted form.
Kerrian changed his own form, returning back to his original size, "Me too, Majesty, me too." He bowed his head before taking off into the air, knowing Drake needed to be in the castle before Val returned.
Val sighed and bounded off into the woods, letting her other half take full control, needing her to take control. She reached the palace garden's panting but relaxed. A few maides came to help but she shook them off, shifting to normal and telling them gently she was fine.
Kerrian landed in the clearing and shifted back into Drake, the human not exactly expecting the change so quickly. He sprinted back to the castle and made it to his room, flopping on the bed and quickly undressing to make it look like he'd been sleeping.
She made her way around the castle but found no sign of Drake. She sighed and headed to his room, finding him half baked and asleep. She blushed and quickly shut the door behind her, heading to the green house "damn it…" She cursed "your a queen, start acting like one." She chastised
Drake let out a long sigh when he head the door shut behind him. They cut it close, too close.
Val stayed in the green house for most of the day, tending to the plants and flowers she had so digilantly grew over the years. She thought of all the things Kerrian and she had shared, what he almost told him, what he had told her about Drake, what the guards thought of the kingdoms allies, all of it tumbling about in her head
Drake rolled onto his back, running his hands over his face. He couldn't keep this up for long, he knew that much. He'd have to tell her soon.
When Val finally got out of the greenhouse, dawn had fallen. She sighed, not wanting to head back inside. Instead, she headed out to the gardens to see the progress without getting scolded by the gardeners
Drake eventually rose from the bed, bags prominent under his eyes.He didn't bother pulling on a shirt, opting for a new pair of pants and shoes before walking out the room.
Alone with her thoughts, Val walked along the path of the gardens, glad to see that it was coming out beautifully, the gardens truely out did themselves every year. She reached the Willow tree that she kept untouched in the back of the gardens and sat herself under it's long vines.
Drake wandered for a while until he made it outside. He walked the pathways for a while until he spotted Val.
She manipulated the vines around her so they twisted and turned. "So much power, yet you can't do anything right." She muttered, bringing her knees up you her chest and resting her head on top of them
Drake came up behind her and sighed loudly, "But early for self deprecating thoughts, don't you think, majesty?"
