"Nope." Blue said, popping the 'p'. "I've had alcohol before, sure, but never enough to get drunk."

"Trust me, it's fun," Ava sighed.

Blue leaned against her car, nodding. "I sure hope so. Would really suck if it wasn't."

"Best part is waking up the next morning and trying to remember what you did," she said with a snort.

"That sounds like black-out drunk." Blue said with a laugh, a light and happy sound.

"You seem to know a lot about drinking for never having been drunk before," Ava remarked curiously.

"My aunt." Blue said, snorting. "Was a decently popular rock singer. She's the one who knows about it. I just happen to be the one she tells all of her stories to."

"Oh…" Ava hummed, shooting her a wink. "Wanna get to class, Miss Scholar?"

"Not at all." Blue shook her head, chuckling. "Wouldn't skipping cross another thing off?"

Ava grinned. "Wanted to see what you'd say. Anyway, I know a spot where you could get a tat and piercings, if you wanted."

"You mean now?" Blue's eyebrows shot up, but she grinned. "I think I have enough cash stashed in here somewhere…"

"What're we waiting for?" Ava took a hit on her cigarette before tossing it aside. "We takin' your ride or mine?"

"Depends. Waddya ride?" Blue looked over at Ava, raising an eyebrow. She moved around to where Ava had thrown her cigarette, grinding it into the pavement with the heel of her boot.

"A '67 Corvette," she purred nonchalantly. "What's it to ya?"

"Just makin' sure it wasn't a bike or something." Blue said with a shrug. "It's up t' you, honestly."

"Pfft," Ava huffed. "If I had to ride a bike to school, you wouldn't see me right now."

"I meant vroom vroom bike, not briing briing." Blue said, mimicking the sounds of a motor and a bell.

"Either way, they're not my thing. Brother's a big fan of 'em, though," she said, absently sliding off the hood. "So, will it be yours or mine?"

"We're takin' the pig." Blue said, opening the passenger door before heading around to the driver's side.

Ava slid in and pulled out another cigarette. She lit it slowly and blew the smoke outside the window.

"Are you just gonna chain smoke the whole ride?" Blue asked, raising an eyebrow in amusement as she pulled out of the parking spot.

"Got a problem with that?" Ava shot back smoothly. Her cigarette danced around between her fingers.

Blue thought about it, tongue poking out in her usual habit, before she shrugged. "Not entirely. Just try'n keep it near the window, so I don't choke."

"Noted," she said in a surprisingly soft voice. She took another hit and aimed it out the window courteously.

"Thanks." She shot Ava a smile, before focusing back on the road. The car itself was a bit of a mess, a toolbox on the floor of the back seat, and different receipts scattered. There was also an odd number of what looked like instruction manuals everywhere, for an increasingly wide range of tasks.

"So, how'd you come up with all that stuff?" Ava asked, referring to Blue's list.

"When I was in New York, it kinda just….hit me." Blue said, wrinkling her nose. "That there were all these things I'd never done, things I should do 'fore I head off wherever life takes me."

"Interesting," Ava purred. "Why'd you change so much from last year?"

"D'you have any memory of the day I came to school with the bandage over my eye, after bein' gone?" Blue asked, using one hand to tap the scar on her eyebrow.

"Yeah, I think so," Ava murmured, as if recalling it to her immediate memory.
