"Why did he not eat that last one," Chase questioned.
"Why did he not eat that last one," Chase questioned.
Alex held his hand out to the girl.
"I could use a pet." The girl slowly put her hand in his. In honesty, she reminded him of his dead sister.
"You can take her I guess," Chase shrugged
"I can try and bring her back," Sphyra offered taking over Chase's voice
"No thanks." Alex gently lead the girl away from the carnage. He didn't want to deal with someone else who might talk back.
Simply a snack for later.
In your dreams.
I don't dream.
"Oh you don't know what I can do," Sphyra evily mumbled still controlling Chase's voice.
"Well besides the point lets lead her back," Chase said pushing Sphyra to the back of his mind.
Alex picked the girl up. She was light, and she didn't struggle. He placed her on his back. He pulled her arms around her neck and wrapped her legs around his waist.
"Well, let's go."
Chase led the way and carefully walked towards the base. When they got there he walked down the stairs without moving any of the rubble. He walked up to the door and felt for the switch.
Chase glanced at Alex holding the girl. "Lay her on the couch," Chase said pointing at the sofa
Alex set the girl gently down, then sat next to her.
"I think I'll call her Star."
"That's a nice name," Chase said looking her glazed eyes. "Are you sure you don't want Sphyra to put life back in her," Chase offered.
"I'm sure." Alex placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Ok," Chase shrugged sitting down on one of the chairs. "Why did you keep her?" Chase asked.
"As I said: I could use a pet." Alex pulled her closer to him.
Chase shrugged. He was very confused about what was happening. "Ok then," Chase said slouching in the chair.
That is a strange answer
"Oh, Alex the people flock in the same place every 10 hours. Just saying," Chase said with his fingers on his temples.
The girl let out a squeak.
Alex put his arm around her.
"Shh, it'll be okay."
"What are you doing. Did you know her," Chase said fingers still on his temples.
"No." Alex ran his hand through her hair, combing out the tangles.
"Why are you doing this then. Treating as if she was your child," Chase asked very concerned.
"Did you see anyone else doing it?" Alex had a soft spot for young children, and she reminded him of his younger sister.
I still say it's just a snack.
And I say you can't touch her.
"No," Chase said with a your right tone. "She seems familiar. I don't know why though," Chase said staring at Star.
The girl yawned. Curling up, she tucked her head under Alex's arm.
"Sweet dreams," he whispered in her ear.
"She seems so familiar," Chase said continuing to stare at her.
"And? She obviously doesn't have a family anymore." Alex pulled his jacket off and laid it on Star. He had a flashback, remembering when he had to bash his own sister's head in with a baseball bat. He gave a soft shudder.
"I don't know, but I do know that those people use to be the bodies of our spirits. Thats it really. Her face just seems so familiar." Chase said
"Well, it doesn't matter anymore, now does it? She's mine." He put his arm over her. She sighed contently, shifting in her sleep.
"She is cute," Chase sighed.
You've been quiet Sphyra
Oh, Sorry
"Something is off," Chase mumbled under his breath
"Yeah. Your talking as if you want to take Star." Alex looked down at her.
"Not gonna happen bub."
"No, I wouldn't take her. I can barely take care of myself let alone a kid," Chase said defensively. "It's just since you brought Star here Sphyra has been acting weird."
"That's your problem." Alex looked down at Star, and his expression softened.
"Ya, I know," Chase said looking at Star. "It's just odd, that once she showed up Sphyra started acting weird." Chase mumbled under his breath.
