Basically any fantasy name ever, but these stand out:

  • America Singer
  • Carter Woodwork
  • Maxon Schreave
  • Tiny Lee
  • Celeste Newsome

Any name that would be a 'normal' name but is spelled weird/with a y instead of an i

Heartfilia? Who is that?

A character from Fairy Tail, an anime I watched like three years ago…

I barely remember anything about it now, except for how bad the character's names were.

It's sooooo much better when a character has a meaningful name. It's like a little easter egg for readers to get into.

Pardon? Were you implying that my bb has a bad name????

Although, I am totally down with D&D/WOW type titles.

Example:

Eris, the World Destroyer.
Dom, the Wolfhearted
Jyn, the Night Beast

etc.

Slay, Jyn the Night Beast

Shy girls that hide behind their long hair. It was fun at first but now it's everywhere and is an uncreative way to show a character's shy. I wouldn't mind if the author actually had other stuff to show they're shy but I haven't seen a lot that do

If I walked around with hair in my face all over the place that's just inconvenient, not "awww shy and cute."

I have yet to come across a male author that can properly write a female character.

Off the top of my head:

They usually make them overly and ridiculously, flamboyantly gorgeous.
Overly emotional, or crazy emotional because they are women (or the exact opposite because they can't write anything but cardboard)
Stereotypical thoughts and actions
Any 'strong' female ends up passed over for a male hero and subsequently saved by him.
