“I am a mage but I’m definitely not specific to fire”
“I am a mage but I’m definitely not specific to fire”
(welcome back my dude @TheElemental_needs_a_better_username)
Caught off guard by Hunter, Elm took some time thinking up a snarky hello. "Howdy ma'am, I believe the fire mage you're lookin' for is Adara." He said with a southern accent. Turning to Aza, he grinned. "Was my 'cowboy' good?"
Aza rolled her eyes. "Most certainly, Elm."
Grinning, Elm tipped his invisible cowboy hat in thanks to Aza. "Lewis, if you'd like, I could try to heal you. I'm a healer, so I've sort of had some practice with this." He asked.
“That would be great” he said
"Here, sit down for a moment." Elm plopped onto the floor, and motioned to Lewis to do the same. "Okay, let me see your arm, Lewis." Elm said.
Lewis sat down and showed elm his arm
"Good to know," Hunter said.
Elm's hands took on a green glow/aura and he held them over Lewis's bite. "Contra mendacium." Elm muttered softly, repeating it thrice. A strange sensation settled over everyone, the kind of sensation when your foot falls asleep. Elm furrowed his eyebrows in frustration. Lewis's bite would begin to mend, but then open again.
"Someone is either fighting me, or this isn't just a regular bite." He explained, straining to keep going. "I'm going to have to do a more complex spell. Lewis, this might hurt." Elm warned. Elm's eyes glazed over, rolling back into his head. Flicking back quickly, his green eyes had turned neon. "Redige eum." Elm said, and placed his hand on Lewis's arm. "Quis hoc fecit?" Elm asked. His eyes widened, and he snatched his arms away from Lewis.
The bite was gone, but a concerned expression shadowed Elm's face. "Lewis, you've been infici." He said gravely.
"I'm pretty sure we're all pretending we know what you mean," Aza said, peering at Elm's hands.
Hunter rolled her eyes. "If you don't mind, I'm leaving," she said. She started off, walking away.
"Oh sorry, Aza. I mean infected." His hands stopped glowing. "Hunter, I can tell you stuff about Adara. We last saw her and a weird fox man a few days ago. They murdered the king and we haven't seen them since, but I felt a strange residue of magic at the castle, strong magic. It might give you clues as to where they are?" He offered.
Aza subconsciously brushed a strand of Elm's hair out of his face. She jerked her hand back, realizing what she had done and fiddled with her belt.
Grinning, Elm stood up. "I still owe you a drink, don't I?" He said to Aza. "Well, it was nice to meet you both," Elm said to Lewis and Hunter. "But we really must be going." He says turning towards the door.
Selene's eyes were black, completely. She walked to the door of the small bar and saw a woman standing in the door, leaving. Two deformed dog-like creatures stood by her side. They were almost as big as her. "Stop them," Selene said in a cheery voice. The two creatures rushed to the door and one leaped at the woman (Hunter) while the other entered the bar and snarled viciously. Blood dripped down it's face from it's eyes.
"To Avem," Aza said softly and opened the door.
Elm nodded, and followed Aza. The creature's ears perked up and he stared straight at Aza. He dashed over suddenly, and leaped. "Ignis!" Elm yelled and held up his hands with his thumbs and index fingers touching to form a triangular shape. Fire burst through and hit the dog-like thing. "RUN!" Elm yelled, and then collapsed onto Aza from exhaustion.
Aza yelped and waved her hands spontaneously, and they both slid into cold, dark shadows. They reemerged in a busy village, and Aza collapsed with Elm.
Hunter jerked away from the creature as fast as she could. She tapped it, and the creature turned into pure glass, a glimmering statue. She glanced around. "Where did that elf go?"
(I’m back)
(welcome back)
Aza yelped and waved her hands spontaneously, and they both slid into cold, dark shadows. They reemerged in a busy village, and Aza collapsed with Elm.
While Elm dreamed, Selene got busy. She walked into the bar, the scent of dust, blood and alcohol filling her lungs.
She looked at Hunter. "What happened here? And what is that?" Selene says, pointing at the glass statue. "And have you seen an elf anywhere? I'm looking for my brother." She said, almost sounding like a lost child.
he had followed hunter “what is that”
Selene looked Lewis up and down, like a scanner. "You." She said. "How dare you live, after all the hard work I put into killing you." Her voice melted into a demonic growl, yet you could still hear her regular voice, they spoke united, as Selene. "I need to stop this immediately, the prophecy must not come true!" She said.
Selene blinked, and a horrified expression covered her face for three to five seconds before it reverted to a cruel sneer. "Kill." She said. A thundering sound came, soft at first, but growing. A horde of deformed and misshapen hounds crawled, ran, limped, slithered into the bar, running towards Lewis and Hunter.
Elm yawned, blinking away remnants of a dream he had already forgotten. He stared at the sky for a moment, then to his left. Azalane. He looked at her for a moment, her features. She was pretty good-looking. "How did you get this close to my heart?" He murmured. Elm was always the 'villain' back home, and, tired of fighting it, played the part, well as he could. Sitting up, Elm grabbed Aza's hands.
"Somnium tuum, finem,
expergiscimini"
(This is your dream, and the end. awake)
Aza gasped, sitting upright. "What happened? I shadow-portalled…and then?"
"And then I just woke up here and woke you up. I don't know if Lewis or Hunter are alright or not, but I guess it doesn't matter at this point." Elm said, still holding Aza's hands. "So, I don't know about you, but I'm hungry after all that 'shadow-portalling'"
"Um…" she trailed off, noticing her hands in Elm's. "Yeah, yeah, I guess."
Standing, Elm pulled Aza up, dropping her hands afterwards. "Your hands are cold." He says, looking at Aza. A passer-by stops to look at Elm and Aza. "Hey you," Elm called to him. "Do you know where we could get a decent meal around here?" The passer-by shakes his head, rushing away. "Well that was-" Elm's snarky comment was cut off by the sound of a scream. "THEY'RE COMING!"
"Yeah, it's the shadows," Aza said and turned her hands over. Black webbed through her veins. She looked up when she heard the shout. "I can shadow-portall one more time before I collapse again."
