Adrielle shrugged. "Polite conversation." She took a closer look at the girl, and her eyes widened suddenly before she swore and ducked her head, running as fast as she could away from there.
Adrielle shrugged. "Polite conversation." She took a closer look at the girl, and her eyes widened suddenly before she swore and ducked her head, running as fast as she could away from there.
He blinked a couple of times, glancing over at the sprinting figure, then back to Peggy.
Peggy looked up, watching the girl running away, and sighed. "Well, fuck. She was kinda cute, too." She turned to the guy, holding out a hand. "Peggy. Nice to…throw a rock for you."
Adrielle was cursing herself. She hoped that the girl didn't get a close look at her face. She had done her best to disguise herself, but her mom had sent out what she looked like on the internet after she had run.
The syboite peeled away from his hand as he reached out and shook Peggy's. "I'm Klaus. Thanks for the help. They came outta nowhere with a lotta knives."
Adrielle stopped at a cafe and went in. She cut in front of a bunch of people, but no one dared protest at the look in her eyes. She ordered a coffee and sat down at a bench outside.
"Too bad all of mine are at home." Peggy said, shrugging. "Glad I could help somewhat. Wonder what miss Marvel Junior was doing around here."
"Oh, shit, that's who that was?" He looked genuinly surprised. "She's been reaking havoc recently."
Adrielle slipped her earphones in and closed her eyes. She felt a tap on her shoulder and opened her eyes, annoyed, and glared at the man who dared disturb her music time. "What?" She snapped.
"Are you Miss Adrielle Danvers?" The man asked, holding up his phone, where a picture of her was on the screen.
"That she has. Too bad, I almost wanted her autograph." Peggy brushed her hair back, tucking it behind her ear. "Small world, huh?"
He nodded. "Sucks. I can save a busfull of people and barely get mentioned, and she can kill one person and is on the news for the rest of the day. I'm starting to think I'm just ugly."
"No," Adrielle snapped. "Besides, why do you care?" Her question was answered right away as she noticed the reward next to her picture.
The man pulled out a knife and held it to her throat. "You're coming with me, sweetheart," he said, "or that pretty face of yours won't be so pretty anymore."
"Murder'll do that." Peggy said, looking down at her phone before looking back up at Klaus. "You hungry?"
He shrugged, the rest of the suit sliding into his clothing, which was a simple pair of blue jeans and a white t-shirt.
"Sure, why not. You paying?"
"Of course I am." Peggy said, as though it was obvious. "I don't let other people pay for me." She turned on her heel, waving for him to follow as she started off in the same direction the other girl had gone.
He followed along with her, rolling his neck and wincing slightly. "Maybe I'll get on the news now."
Adrielle glared at him, eyes flashing. She calmly pushed the knife away and stood up. "Pleasant as this has been, I have to go." She had recognized the man: it was an agent. She turned back to him, almost as an afterthought. "Also, goodbye," she said, shooting him with a burst of energy. The guy collapsed, dead, and she walked away.
Peggy hummed thoughtfully. "The media likes famous people. Take a selfie with me, and you'll be up there in no time."
"But then I'll just be piggy-backing," he whined. "I wanna do something that'll make people know me for me."
"It'll bring to light your past accomplishments, and people'll notice when you do other things." Peggy said matter-of-factly.
Putting her earbuds back in, Adrielle hummed to the music, ignoring stares. She was happy, or at least as happy as she could ever be. She didn't pay attention to the whispers or the stares or the people taking pictures of her on their phones. She was already famous.
"No, they'll talk about how Peggy just took a selfie with the son of batshit Cletus Kassidy," He sighed. "That's all anyone notices."
"Aw, you know who I am." Peggy cooed, reaching over to pinch his cheek. "You'll never know if you don't try. Or, there is another option."
"What is this 'other option?'" he asked, leaning away from the hand slightly as they walked.
"You get a save while with me." Peggy said, crossing her arms over her chest. She had become a pro at manipulating the press, and this was no different.
He thought about it for a moment, then shrugged. "Seems fair enough. But who do we save, exactly? Seems calm at the moment."
(Now I have no idea what to write lol)
(Go do something VIllainous so they can go try to save something)
((We gotta make 'em run into each other again. Or something big happens))
"In this city? Something'll happen." Peggy seemed fairly sure of that, reaching up the fiddle with her dogtags. "You just gotta keep an eye out."
Or ears out, as a HUGE explosion sent them both sprawling to the their backs. There was the sound of a boyish laugh as a blur raced past them, leaving a trail of smoke.
"I'm Rocket Man, and I'm here to kill you, Peggy!" Dude just sounded like a creep.
Klaus was already in battle mode, on his feet in the blink of an eye and releasing a guttorial snarl.
