He nodded a little, "I-I know… but there's no point helping a lost cause."
He nodded a little, "I-I know… but there's no point helping a lost cause."
“Babe look at me. You are not a lost cause.” Caleb said, looking him in the eyes.
Kyle could barely hold the eye contact, "I-I am…"
“No you aren’t, I’ll never give up on you”
"That's what they all say… and then they do."
“I won’t, I promise”
"Promises can be broken."
“I’m not going to leave you Kyle, I’d rather die.” Now would of course be a convenient time to explain why he knew what this was like but…talking about that place might only make Kyle more upset.
Kyle was silent after that. He made a valid point and didn’t know how to respond.
“I…..I know it’s hard right now, I personally know what that place can do to someone, and I’m sorry you had to be there.” He said quietly.
He opened his mouth to reply, but nothing came out apart from a weak stutter of 'I's
He continued, knowing if he didn’t tell Kyle now, he never would. “I got into an accident, I was the only one to survive. I wasn’t supposed to make it…and that’s why the government got suspicious. I was there for weeks…maybe months…”
"Wh-What did they… they do?"
“Hard to remember, they told everyone I was in a coma, I almost believed it too until patches of my memory started coming back.” He sighed before saying quietly “they thought…they thought I was special…like you”
"I'm… I'm sorry.."
“It’s fine…I just wanted you to know….I kinda know what you’re going through. Even though in the end I didn’t have powers”
"I'd rather be normal then have powers right now…"
“I know babe…I-I wish you didn’t have to go through all of this” he was honestly fighting tears, but he couldn’t break down on Kyle, not now.
Kyle looked up at Caleb before crawling into his lap. He wrapped his arms around his neck before he rested his forehead to his, "Thank-you, for everything you've done for me."
He smiled gratefully, looking into Kyle’s eyes. “Of course, I never even had to think about it, I’d do anything for you.”
He moved one of his hands to rest on Caleb's cheek, rubbing soft circles into the skin, "And I'd do anything for you, too."
His smile grew and he blushed happily.
He smiled softly back, still rubbing the circles.
Caleb leaned in and kissed him softly.
He kissed back, letting his eyes slip shut. He'd missed this.
Caleb held the kiss for a few more second and before breaking away.
After a moment, Kyle kissed him again, a little harder. He need affection and to be held and kissed again.
Caleb kisses him back, a bit surprised honestly.
After a few more moments, he pulled back, resting his forehead against Caleb's again, "I'm sorry I've been so distant recently…"
“It’s okay, I know you’ve had a lot on your mind” He said quietly.
