It was then that the house got drastically cold, mainly the living room put the temperature everywhere else decreased. At first there wasn’t any ice, but soon Kyle was incased in the stuff, effectively waking him up.

“That can’t be good” Eddie muttered.
“Just fuck off, quickly” he replied, but she’d already disappeared. Caleb rushed over to Kyle. “K-Kyle?”

The ice encased him in a dome shape, preventing him from escaping. Kyle was already starting to panic pushing the ice with his hands as if it would do something, "C-Caleb! I-I didn't… I d-don't…"

“Try and stay calm okay, we’re gonna get you out of there” he said calmly. “Take deep breaths. We’ll figure this out.”

Kyle whimpered but did as told, taking a few deep breaths. For a moment it seemed like the ice was melting but it soon came back. Spikes grew from the dome, razor sharp on the inside and out.

Okay now he was panicking. He didn’t know what to do to get Kyle out safely.

"C-Caleb I-" He was cut off by one of the spikes piercing his skin, effectively drawing blood and a small scream.

“I need you to hold on for me okay? We’re gonna get you out, I just need you to hold on for as long as you can.” He said, as he called Veronica.

"I-It h-hurts…" He dome was getting smaller and the spikes were getting bigger, more and more cutting his skin.

It only took a bit for Veronica to get there. “Jesus Caleb What the fuck happened?!”
“Just fix it!”
“Okay okay!”

There were many cuts over Kyle's body now, some deeper then others and some shards of ice stuck in his skin.

“Hey Kyle I’m gonna try and melt this okay?” She said gently.

"P-Please…" He whimpered.

Veronica quickly put a hand on the dome, starting to apply heat to it.

The ice slowly started to melt, the spikes retracting.

Veronica kept melting the ice as much as she could without hurting Kyle.

It took a while as the ice was so think but soon it was completely melted. Kyle was shivering, paler then usual and you could see the extent of his injuries.

Caleb rushed over to him, hugging him tightly.

Kyle whimpered softly, the hug aggravating the cuts and ice still in his arms but he didn't push Caleb away.

He loosened his grip slightly. “Thank you” He said to Veronica.
She nodded, “of course.”

Kyle would have thanked her, too, but he couldn't form words anymore.

“Are you okay?” Caleb asked gently

He shook his head, whimpering softly.

“I’m gonna get some medical supplies okay?” He said, gently cupping his chin and looking in his eyes. “I’ll be back”

He nodded the tiniest bit in acknowledgment.

Caleb got up, leaving Kyle alone with Veronica.

Kyle looked to Veronica, the back to his lap, stuttering out a weak and quiet ‘thank-you’ a second later.

She nodded. “You’re welcome.” She fell silent before continuing. “You really don’t have a handle on this at all, do you?”

“The fuck do you think?” He mumbled, “The nightmares, the attacks a-and now this…” He bit his bottom lip to keep it from trembling, “I-I don’t… I-I can’t…”

“Listen…you should take his advice and go talk to Katie. She really does make things that help people manage their powers.”
