"Inexperienced and scared," Aurelius said with a slight laugh, "Is that more like it?"
"Inexperienced and scared," Aurelius said with a slight laugh, "Is that more like it?"
"Maybe, but you're not a coward." said Silver, "And I won't demean you like that."
"That's fair enough," Aurelius replied, "You're a little biased, but your opinion doesn't matter any less because of it."
"How am I biased?" asked Silver.
"You happen to like me as a person. We're friends, probably more," he said, "You already have certain opinions on me."
"I guess that's true…" said Silver, "But hey, at least you can trust me to cheer you up?"
"That's right," Aurelius replied, "It helps a lot. And you know, if we can get through all of this, maybe we can finally live our lives in some peace. Just promise me one thing. Please don't put yourself into any more danger than you have to."
"I'll try… but please understand that my healer duties come first.. I have to live up to that, even if it means fighting for the injured."
"That's part of your duty, therefore you have to. I understand. Just don't do anything foolish. You seem more levelheaded than I am, so it's not like I think you will. I just worry," Aurelius answered, "It's only natural."
"I know" said Silver, "But I'll be working with my brother Glaciero. And I'm a decent warrior to so I'm sure I'll be fine.."
"I wonder what they'll have me doing still," Aurelius wondered out loud, "I don't feel like I have much of a spot here. I can't heal. I'm not a great fighter. Septima says I'd be amazing at strategy, but it sure doesn't feel like it. I'm basically a kid compared to some of the guys here who have seen more fights than I have and know how to strategize."
"Who knows, but first we need to figure out what's still up with you."
Aurelius nodded. "Yeah, I'd like to know, honestly. It's eating at me."
"Wait til the moon's out." said Silver, "I can't do anything till then."
"Of course. Should be in a couple of hours," Aurelius said, glancing up at the sun, which was slowly moving westward.
"Make that three" said Silver, "Has to be fully risen."
"Right…" Aurelius said, continuing to walk.
He bent down to the ground to examine some nice-smelling herbs.
"You wouldn't happen to need these for anything, would you? I recognize them from somewhere, I just couldn't quite tell you."
"Markate" said Silver, Identifying them. "They're used to calm people down."
"Oh…" Aurelius murmured, "I think my mother used this stuff a lot."
"Was she a healer?" asked Silver, pulling out a small bag and harvesting some of the plants.
"No, but she occasionally added it to teas that we drank," Aurelius replied, "Come to think of it, she would usually do that after a tough day at work. Not that she had extremely hard or dangerous work, as she was a librarian and a writer, but she was very prone to stress."
"Sounds about right" said Silver, "It can ease stress levels physically, and even ease depression and anxiety."
Aurelius nodded. "Yeah… I wish she would've told me about that. It might've helped me out a little through the years."
Silver smiled, "Y'know you could always eat it raw if you're stressed out.."
"I think I'm okay for right now, but I'll keep that one in mind," Aurelius said, "I'll definitely need it."
Silver smiled, "Trust me it works wonders." said Silver, "I've had to use it myself a few times.."
"Good to know," Aurelius replied, "Say, are there any other herbs that you can think of off the top of your head that have similar effects?"
"Well, there are the tea variety, chammomile, jade, ect. And there's Marigold, and mint, Okera is similar.." he listed off a few more.
"Thank you," Aurelius answered once Silver had finished the list, "I hope something helps, even if just a little."
"Markate tends to have the best results…" said Silver, "Healers always keep a large stock, half for themselves more than anything."
