"I'm not…" He couldn't even finish his sentence before he was drifting off into sleep.
"I'm not…" He couldn't even finish his sentence before he was drifting off into sleep.
His gaze softened, he smiled softly. ‘Such a cutie.’ He still had no idea how he’d gotten so lucky.
He sighed a little, snuggling into him.
And then of course the annoying ass voice came from the back of his head.
‘CALEB I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DON’T LET ME OUT RIGHT NOW I’M TAKING CONTROL OF THE BODY’
(sits in confusion)
He sniffed, nose scrunching up a little as he curled up against Caleb, much like a kitten would.
“Jesus Christ Eddie, fine, but if he wakes up you better disappear” he mumbled
‘Okaaaaay I get it now let me out please’
He sighed, closing his eyes, when he opened them, there she was. The pale, translucent form of a girl, even in death a sarcastic, rebellious bitch.
“Thanks Caleb” she said with a smile
“You know I hate you right”
“Ouch I thought we were friends?! Trust me if I could’ve just died peacefully I would’ve…maybe…”
He whined slightly at the sudden amount of noise.
They both fell silent and Caleb glared at her. The ghost merely shrugged and then proceeded to just float in the air. “You haven’t let me out in weeks!” Eddie whisper yelled.
He calmed down after that, snuggling into Caleb's side for warmth.
“Whatever Eddie.” He rolled his eyes. “Dead people don’t get rights”
“I will actually posses you Caleb, try me!”
“I was kidding jeez…you know I’d normally let you out, just not with Kyle around”
“What, because I’m a bad influence or something?”
“No Eddie because you’re a ghost”
He sighed softly, a strand of hair falling in front of his face.
“He really is an adorable little thing isn’t he.” Eddie commented from where she now sat on the ceiling.
“Yeah He is….you better not try and snatch him.”
“I would never!”
His nose scrunched up a little, obviously due to something in whatever he was dreaming about.
“Hey when is Veronica coming over anyway? It’s been awhile since I’ve gotten to bother her.” Eddie asked
“I don’t know…soon if Kyle gets more stable.”
Kyle whined again, only this time it wasn't from Caleb and Eddie talking.
Caleb looked over, his eyes filled with concern. He waited for a second before saying. “I’m sorry Eddie, you should disappear, just in case he wakes up.”
For once Eddie didn’t argue, and her ghostly form disappeared.
As the next few minutes past, Kyle became more and more distressed, yet he didn't wake up.
Caleb shook him lightly. “Kyle?” He had to admit he was more than a little worried.
He gasped as he woke up, panting slightly as he looked around before his eyes landed on Caleb as he calmed down.
“It’s okay…I’m here” he reassured softly, taking his hand.
He rested his head against Caleb's shoulder, squeezing his hand to make sure he was there and this wasn't another dream.
“Are you okay? You seemed to be getting pretty freaked out so I woke you up.” Caleb said quietly.
"I-It was just another nightmare…" He replied, his voice barely audible.
“….you wanna talk about it?” He asked gently.
He shook his head, eyes brimming with tears just thinking about it.
“Okay….but we’re going to have to talk about all of this at some point” he kissed Kyle’s forehead softly. “I love you”
Kyle nodded, a couple tears falling from his face and he didn't wipe them away, "I-I love you too." His voice was so quiet it couple barely be heard.
Caleb held him close, humming softly to calm him down.
A few more tears dripped, but after a few moments and some deep breaths, he calmed down.
“I just wanna help you….but I’m not sure how”
