He nodded in thanks to the waitress as well and started eat. "It's good, thank you for this." He said to Strange "my treat, and you're welcome. Wow you really did a number on him Avalin, that is the first time I've heard him say thank you." He teased
She laughed lightly, "He can be polite, and this is one of the times he is." She said between bites of the food.
Loki rolled his eyes and smiled "you do realize I can hear you?" He said then continued eating "Common courtesy is not a thing I'm new to. It's just something I don't use often."
She poked his side lightly, “That’s very true,” She said, taking a short break from eating to try to savor the food.
He smiled and swatted her hand away gently, continuing to eat "is it though?"
Strange smiled and ate his food on content silence
"I don't know, is it?" She copied him, smiling and making another attempt to poke his side as she started to eat again.
His smile grew as he tried to avoid her pokes, only to be cornered by the wall
"Ah so you have an influence on her as well." Strange said with a smile "careful Loki, she's picking up on your tricks, now that's dangerous."
Avalin laughed and glanced at Strange, "I already know several of his tricks, I'm quite dangerous if I use them too."
He nodded "I knew eventually I'd wear off on her, It was only a matter of time." He glanced over at her proudly "you know she shot me with arrows the first time we met? they weren't even blunted! Imagine the trouble that would've been." He fibbed with a laugh
"Did not!" She protested, a pretend scowl on her face, "I asked if the arrows were blunted and you said they were, so I believed you. I didn't try to shoot you with sharp arrows."
"ah that was your first mistake. Believing him." Strange chimed in
"And yet you still shot at me." Loki said with a pointed glance at Avalin, not trying to hide the smile
She smiled lightly and poked him in the side again, "That's because I trusted you, dork. Plus, you forgot to mention that you were throwing daggers at me."
"and there's your second mistake, trusting him." Strange said with a teasing smile
Loki laughed and gently drew her hands away from his side, pulling her into a hug where her back was against his chest "are you done with your fetal attempt at poking me love?" He asked quetly with a smile
"Maybe, maybe not," She said, tilting her head back to look at him with a smile, "You'll never know."
"hm, then I guess I'm not letting you go." He leaned down and kissed her. "I think you're right," he said addressing Strange "learning from me is dangerous."
She laughed lightly and shifted around in his grasp, "Oh be quiet, I've learned quite a lot from you and yet i'm still not that dangerous."
He shook his head and smiled "sure you're not love." He let her go and went back to his food.
A small smile appeared on her face and she went back to her food, glancing at Strange, “So, what else is there to do in this city?”
He smiled knowingly "ah the million dollar question, where to next in this city. Why stop at the city though?" He glanced over at Loki who smiled back and nodded "I think she's ready."
"Ready for what?" She asked, glancing between the two of them with a look of excitement and slight confusion, "Are we leaving the city?"
Loki nodded to Strange again "where to first?"
He smiled and stood "the last one we talked about before."
“Where are we going?” She asked again, looking to Loki with a slightly confused smile.
"You'll see," he nudged her out of the seat "As I've said before, there's no fun in surprises if you know what's going on."
Strange nodded in agreement and got up "In this case, he has a good point.
She sighed and stood up, “That’s true but I don’t like surprises, I’d rather just know what’s going on.”
"I promise you'll like this surprise." He kissed her temple and led her out the door, trailed by Strange. "We're going to do it in the building, more organized." Strange called
"Fine…" She looked around the city as they left, the small knot of excitement and slight worry that came with surprises coming back.
Loki nodded "I'll be right back. I need to grab something." He let go of Avalin and headed down the street
"We'll wait for him inside." Strange said, guiding Avalin to the doors
She nodded, "Alright." Avalin followed him to the doors and looked around, smiling lightly, "You wouldn't happen to want to tell me what this surprise is, would you?" She asked.
He smiled and shook his head "Sorry, I made Loki a promise not to tell you. Plus he kinda threatened my well-being if I did." He shrugged off his cloak which floated over to Avalin in curiosity
"Well, it was worth a shot," She said with a shrug, watching the cloak curiously, "Does your cape have a name?"
