She shook her head. "I don't even know anymore."

The waitress came back, apologizing profusely for the wait. "I'm so sorry, there was a mishap in the kitchen. Somebody put an entire head of lettuce in the frier."

Starr bit her lip heavily so she didn't laugh loudly. "Oh. That sounds… interesting."

The waitress, who's nametag read 'Vicky', laughed. "Yeah, that's one way to put it. Alright, what can I get you two?"

"Chocolate shake and a side of fries, please." Damian said, before looking over at Starr.

"Same thing," Starr replied. Her fingers blindly unwrapped a piece of gum in her pocket.

Vicky nodded, smiling brightly. "I'll have 'em right out for you two, soon as possible." She disappeared back into the kitchen, and faint conversation about which employee would have put lettuce in the frier could be heard.

"Huh. That was weird." Damian said, an eyebrow raised.

"Thank God neither of us ever did that," she laughed. "I wanted to so bad that one time, though…"

"I put an entire fish in the frier that one time." He said, grinning at the memory, "A head of lettuce is so much funnier though."

"Oh yeah, you did do that," she remembered with a laugh. "What compelled you do even think about that?"

"I was really bored." He said with a shrug.

She rolled her eyes. "Wasn't I sick that day? Or was it the next day?"
