"We never got to slow dance."
"We never got to slow dance."
She stuck her bottom lip out in a dramatic pout. "No, we didn't. But I'm assuming it would've taken until midnight for that to even start."
"Well, why not do it right now?"
She raised her brows in surprise. "I'm basically in pajamas and you were opposed to dancing from the start."
"I was opposed to dancing in those shoes, not the act itself. And you aren't basically, you are in pajamas. Personally, I like this look better than the big poofy dresses."
He sat up with a smile, his hair now an absolute mess.
She smiled. "Oh, so you would prefer if I just strut around in oversized clothing and short shorts?"
"You'll look beautiful either way." With a huff, he got to his feet, looking down at his tie. "Aww, it got wrinkled."
She stood as well with a smile and pulled him down to her level using the tie, pressing her lips against his.
Per usual, his face heated up as his hands came to rest on her sides.
She briefly pulled away to say, "I think I have a type."
He tilted his head, pausing for a moment in his confusion.
She chuckled at her own train of thought. "My girlfriend wasn't much different than you. She got all flustered and whatnot just like you whenever I flirted with her or something like that."
"Ah, yes, comparing me to someone else while we kiss."
She blinked. "Oops. Sorry." She smiled sheepishly.
He laughed. "Look who's flustered now."
"Not flustered, just a dumbass with no filter."
"Mhm." He looked around the dark room. "Have a radio anywhere? We need some music if we're gonna dance."
She pulled away to find where she put the futuristic stereo. "Aha, over here." She brought up a holographic screen and gestured to it. "Just enter whatever music you want to play."
Immediately Careless Whispers blared through the speakers as Runner gave Tess a toothy grin.
Tessa rolled her eyes. "Seriously?"
"What? It's a good song!"
"It's cliche."
"And? That means a lot of people are smart enough to use it."
She rolled her eyes again, but a smile crept up her lips.
"See? You like it."
"I like you. I'll tolerate the song."
"So, now's probably a good time to tell you I have no clue in all hell what I'm doing." He grinned sheepishly.
She smiled and pulled him towards her, placing his hands around her waist and hers around his neck. "Honestly, neither do I." She chuckled.
He began to shuffle back and forth around the living room, trying his hardest to keep from stepping on her feet. "Wait, you can bellydance in sync with someone blindfolded and can't slow dance?"
She rolled her eyes again. "I don't bellydance, for one. Secondly, that someone is Cinthia. I guess we have a special connection, so we can match each other's movements with ease. Thirdly, my dancing is more fast-paced. This isn't exactly my speed."
