He scooted over as far as he deemed necessary. "It's made of concrete. 5 1/2 thick, with steel rebars to enforce it. That's not gonna get busted without a few pounds of C-4." Wait, how the fuck did he know this.

"Why would a door be made up of concrete?" Melanie yelled up at him, scowling with her fists at her sides.

"To keep fuckers like me or him in! And why the hell are you yelling at me?"

"Because I don't know what the hell I'm doing here and you seem to be the most knowing one, dammit! And I'm confused about all this, and you seem to know more than me! And I know some shit!" Melanie tried to stomp for effect, but it almost made her look cute, in a way, seeing as she had no intention of harming Lee.

He probably would have found it cute if he had been able to see. "Obviously not enough to know that human hands don't go through concrete!"

"Well, how was I supposed to know it was concrete?" Melanie huffed, crossing her arms. "And I'm not asking lightbulb for help."

"Does it not look like concrete?"

"You know, the lightbulb can hear you and would like to mention that he has the ability to concentrate light into lasers, not that any of you would care," Lux piped up, the top part of the chandelier wriggling and twisting to resemble something along the lines of the face and body of a dragon

"Okay, maybe it looks like concrete, but how am I supposed to know how thick it is? And the answer is no, I will not be asking the talking piece of furniture for help." Melanie glared in Lux's direction.

"It doesn't really matter how thick it is. Concrete trumps flesh and bone every time." THe bite was gone from his voice. He just looked bored.

"Dammit. If I ask lightbulb, what do I get?" Melanie sighed, aggravated, frustrated that she might have to trust the most annoying person in the room.

"You get a laser that can cut through concrete."

"He's correct," Lux hummed, looking smug even as a chandelier dragon. He wriggled a bit, fully unfolding but still attached by the tail to the ceiling

"I hate you all. Fine." Melanie let out an exasperated sigh. "Hey, Lightbulb, could you possibly break down the concrete door that's keeping us trapped in here?"

He rolled his eyes. He was over her attitude at this point, so he decided to put a mental block over her voice.

"With pleasure," Lux hummed, grinning as the crystals around his body shimmered to life, seemingly drawing all the light in the room to them. "I suggest you stand back," he warned

Baylee scooted farther back, unsure of the distance.

"Uh, yeah. Okay." Melanie reluctantly took a few steps away from the door, looking at Lux with a mix of curiosity, skepticism, and a slight bit of fear. But Melanie would never admit to being scared of anything, let alone Lux.

Lux's mouth opened, and the light focused before blasting the concrete door, and after a few seconds the door was obliterated with a flash of near-blinding light

"Jesus Christ! What the-you can do that?" Melanie had her doubts until Lux actually destroyed the door.

"Well, is the door there?" he asked, standing up. "If not, then yes, he can."

"Of course I can do that. I can highly concentrate light into powerful beams. There isn't much in here, so I can't do anything crazy strong, but I can do that," Lux said as he shifted to human again

"No time for questioning at the moment, so…let's go? Find out why the hell we're here? Where we are? Who put us here?" Melanie offered.

As they peer outside, they realize they're in a thick forest in the middle of the night, the moon peeking its way through the branches of the trees like a curious cat peeking around a doorframe.

"Are. You. Shitting. Me. Right. Now." Melanie's eyes widened as she looked outside. "Who would have a cement room in the middle of the woods?" Melanie walked out, yelling into the darkness.

"You're trying to hard to understand what can't be understood. Just cal down for a moment." He walked out of the concrete box with a bored expression on his face.

"Okay. I'm calm." Melanie took a deep breath, "Why are we, complete strangers, in the middle of a forest?"

"Why do you ask questions that nobody can fucking answer?"

"You told me to be calm, nothing else." Melanie sighed in frustration. "So, what do we do? I don't know about this area."

"Well, you forget that you're hanging out with a living lightbulb, so I could light the place up if we need it now that we're outside," Lux hummed, not fazed in the slightest as they walked out
