"No" said Damian firmly, "If anyone's dying it's the creep who did this…"

she begged him with her eyes.

Damian still didn't move, "I'm not leaving you."

"then knock me out please".

Damian sighed, clearly conflicted, but a second later he was behind her, touching her should, putting her to sleep with a shadow spell.

Brair collapsed as she closed her eyes.

"Why can't I catch a break?!"

"Maybe you should dump her " Alec said.

Damian whipped around, blade drawn, and shadows creating a shield around Briar. A growl rose in his throat as he mentally shoved his own fury back down his throat.

"I mean everywhere you go with her you get attacked" he said.

"That last one was your fault." he said, "And the first time I was the one who got hurt, not her, and I was looking for trouble. The other time couldn't have been predicted. And how did you know?" he said, his tone low and ominous, shadows swirling around his feet, and around her as a sheild.

"I was there but anyway hand me briar and I'll be on my way:.

"No" said Damian flatly, teeth bared. "Not unless she wants to go with you, and right now we can't ask her, so for the moment I plan on playing protector until she wakes up."

"you think she loves you".

"I'll wait till she answers that herself." said Damian, "I know I've fallen for her, but I won't press her unless she want's it." He said, "Unlike some people I know how to respect a girl."

"what's that supposed to mean"Alec asked.

"From what I've heard about you you'll do anything to control her, make her do what you want.." said Damian, "Obviously you never listened to your mom, otherwise she would've taught you that you can't control women."

Briar opened her eyes slowly.

Damian looked over at her, just a bit wary of both of them as he slowly lowered his shield, one eye on Alec, the other on Briar.

she got to her feet "Alec leave" she said
he shooke his head "Nope".

Damian stepped in, "The lady asked you to leave" he growled.

"Now leave before I make you" she hissed.

Damian's eyes flicked to her face, but he didn't say anything. He wasn't sure he liked this new version of Briar, focusing on her for a moment he realized the everything about her had changed, right down to her scent.

he smirked "mhh he doesn't like miss fang Briar".

Damian's attention flicked back to Alec, his eyes cold. I'll figure it out later… he thought.

briar's eyes softened but still red and her hair went blonde again "if I go with you will you leave him alone;
alec nodded.

Damian paled, "Briar…"

she sighed. Vary well".

"Briar don't…" Damian felt his legs go weak.

she looked at damian with a small smile her vision blurry from the tears she refused to let fall.
