James seemed relaxed as he led Arthur deeper into the forest, occasionally running his fingertips subconsciously over the other's shoulder
James seemed relaxed as he led Arthur deeper into the forest, occasionally running his fingertips subconsciously over the other's shoulder
Arthur became a little more alert at that, but he didn't pull away. Focusing more on the greenery around them.
Eventually, they reached the camp, where it seemed all the pack members had already made it before them. A few were playing video games, others were napping, and some were just screwing around
Arthur sighed, finally pulling away from James' grip. Watching the other werewolves, he carefully followed James into the clearing.
James led him inside, humming faintly. "Do you want to stay at the camp tonight?" he asked Arthur, a brow raised in question
"I'm probably going to roam around like I normally do," said Arthur quietly, "I highly doubt I'm gonna sleep tonight…"
"That's fine. But I would be careful, since some of my pack are a little skittish," James said, beginning to nibble his leftovers
Arthur nodded, "I can take care of myself, though if I get attacked I request not to be held responsible if someone gets roughed up…"
"Oh, have fun trying to really rough any of my pack up. The only ones you might actually be able to hurt is the younger ones," James said, chuckling a bit
"Let's put it this way" said Arthur flatly, "I generally don't like using my powers, so I keep them dormant as much as possible, meaning you can't sense them. If I weren't keeping them dormant it'd be another story."
"Yeah, you keep talking yourself up like that and you're going to make a lot of people here laugh," James said with a small chuckle of his own
Arthur sighed, sensing his auras well up around him in unseen, untouched, power. The band on his wrist began to glow. Taking a deep breath he carefully suppressed them. "If you wanna try me you're welcome to"
"Careful there, boy," came the voice of Marcus, who was leering at Arthur from across the clearing, sharpening a blade where he sat
Arthur glanced at him, "I'm not a child" he said flatly.
"You certainly act like one," Marcus said levelly, giving Arthur a look. The others looked pretty upset themselves, many annoyed at Arthur
Arthur growled, but stayed silent. Noting the annoyance of most of the pack he figured it would be a good idea to leave.
"Now, now, we don't need to start a fight. We can all relax," James said slowly, but there was something almost warning, hostile in his tone, seemingly directed at everyone
Arthur watched him for a moment, finally he sighed, turning to leave. "I'll be leaving now.." he said quietly, shifting and padding off.
