I think if we moved threads from General to where they belong (cuz most seem to be fandom or writing based and in the wrong catagory) we'll weed out some non-writers.

Again, don't forget to check the discussions I made and make some more of your own. Remember, making change is the key!
We have 11 character chats. 11. And that's just on the first page.
Also another thing, but character critiques belong in the feedback and critique forums.

True! I'm gonna make a post on here to advertise threads y'all make in other areas, just in case!

I agree.
I'm guilty of asking for critiques in Characters. Rip
Yeah, they're basically just easy RPs, and should be moved there.
Hey. So here's a thread for advertising threads in other areas of the site. If you make a chat in other areas besides RP or here, please advertise it in this chat or elsewhere. General Chat is full, so lots if people will see!

Hey guys, I appreciate this thread and seeing everyone self-organize around making the forums (and ourselves) better. I think that's great!
I'm working on a reporting feature for the forums; there isn't one provided by the forum engine we use, so I'm coding one up myself and working with them to get it integrated so we can use it. This'll probably take a while though – feel free to PM me links to posts you'd otherwise be reporting in the meantime.
I'll also look at some alternative solutions to keeping threads "fresh" (like potentially auto-locking them after some time with no activity). In the meantime, I would like to think a lot of this is covered by the thread-bumping system we have (where recently-active threads bump to the top of the list, and idle threads decay behind them and eventually onto other pages). With a low-activity forum (especially in some of the non-general chat sections), this style works particularly well with users that don't check in as often and want to, for example, ask some questions and return back to some answers when they can without worrying about a thread getting locked. We can always tweak these numbers later also – I'll look around at some options though.
I really appreciate everyone disbursing and trying to distribute chats into their proper homes to make the forums better for everyone. In general, suggestions around the forums specifically take a lot longer than updates on the rest of the site, but if anyone has any suggestions for new boards or other forum improvements, I'm always more than happy to hear them!
Thanks everyone for being so rad. I always love to see things improving! :)
No, thank you, andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)!
but if anyone has any suggestions for new boards or other forum improvements, I'm always more than happy to hear them!
I know it was brought up earlier, but maybe a forum where people can request/offer art? Those kinds of threads are fine, but they're really cluttering up the character forums right now.
Maybe a new RP section for character chats? Like I mentioned earlier we have eleven active ones in the character forums where they don't really belong. But I'm wondering if maybe people are putting them there because they feel as though they don't really belong in any of the current RP sections that we have.
Also, are you able to move threads? I've been on some other forums where admin and mods have that ability. And since we have so many threads in the wrong sections it might be beneficial to just move some to the right place rather than just locking/deleting them (or allowing them to continue since that's kind of not really addressing the problem).

I second these!
I'd also like to request a Romance genre lounge and a Mystery/Thriller genre lounge.
I've noticed a lot of music-related threads in the Hobbies forum, so maybe a Music section in the off-topic area would be nice
Yeah, or a Music/Musicals area, and all of the '[Musical/Band] Song Thread' chats can be moved there?
An art section would be nice too.
I'd love an Arts Chat (For Music, Drawings/Paintings, Perhaps Instruments too?)!
Ooh, that's a good idea! For the artists, actors, and musicians!
Thank you so very much andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer), it means a lot to us that you really acknowledged that we're trying to change, and better ourselves and the website. You're pretty rad yourself, honestly.

Yes! People can totally move chats on their own to different forums! All you have to do is for the creator of the thread to click "Edit Topic" and then there will be a small pop-down menu that allows the creator of the thread to move it to a different discussion board.
The only problem is notifying everyone to try to move things around as a community. And the fact that some users who have made chat threads have become inactive or deleted users.
Ace's right, some of them just aren't on anymore, like a lot of the aOGs. But it is possible to move your threads.
Huh interesting. I guess I don't edit my forum threads enough to have noticed. Actually, to come to think of it, I don't even think I make enough forum threads to have noticed. Thanks for pointing that out though. Good to know that feature exists.
I’d be interested in an arts sections!
I remember, while not the same, I was in a forum for a game called Spore for a while. Unfortunately the forum is read only now, but it had a big arts thread for people who wanted to post all things art there; stories, drawings, anything counted.
If I see any new users, I’ll look to becoming a little more interactive with the community.
GUYS!
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) Got The Message! <3
Yup ^~^
That’s amazing! But I hope this doesn’t overwhelm him at all…
It Didn't.
Me too.
He Thanks You All For The Heads Up. <3
I’m just glad this isn’t doing anything serious to andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) at least I hope it’s not. I’m kind of sad really, he made this site with passion for writting, and after a while people took advantage of his kindness and forgiving attitude… I know how it feels, I used to get walked over still do by some people but growing tough skin to stuff like that is very helpful none the less.
Hey all, thanks again for this feedback. Most of the suggested boards above are now live with this update, and there are a few other minor tweaks to polish up the forums as we move forward and continuously make things better.
Thanks everyone for being along with the ride. I've got a lot of exciting plans for Notebook.ai and love that the forums can bring everyone together in new ways. :)
Yeah, of course man! It's truly a pleasure to be on this site, and to interact with everyone on here! It has been a wonderful ride, hasn't it? And I'm glad I was fortunate enough to take it!
