She frowned at her arm again while answering curtly. "I bought it. Another found it, give it to vender." She waved a hand at the forest. "Found here. Must be temple near."

"The person messing with Roswell could be in there."

((Wait, forest? Roswell is in the middle of the desert imao

"Hmm." The thought made her skin crawl, but it wasn't unlikely. Persons of power tended to want control over the runes. Would make sense to be surrounded by a place dedicated to them.

((Magic!

"And this forest is sketchy as all hell. We're in the middle of New Mexico, how the hell has no one noticed this?"

((Mhm, perfect

"Hmm," was all Clove said. She knew perfectly well why the forest was there but wasn't obligated to reveal her knowledge.

He closed his eyes, frowning heavily. "It's such an intricate web of magic…but it's all focused around that temple you were talking about."

"Hmm."

"So…why not just blow the place up? Few pounds of C4 and boom, no more forest, no more mind control, and Roswell is right back to the weird little tourist town focused around a tragedy."

Suddenly, Runner found himself shoved against a tree with a javelin's point and an arm pressed against his throat. "You do that, I kill you."

((He still has his super strength that Tega had, right?

He smiled. "Ah, Ms. Putin's taking orders from a higher power, yeah?"

She narrowed her eyes, ignoring the offensive nickname. "I take orders from none."

((I like that, but I gotta find a way to get it off of him. Maybe a few Vanguard come around? Idk how it would work, but I'm sure we'd figure it out

"Then what's with this sudden aggression?"

She decided a small slice of her life wouldn't hurt. "I dedicate my life to Runic. You destroy temple, I destroy you or destroy myself."
((The Vanguard wouldn't show since this isn't their area of jurisdiction. Maybe if a few demons came along, but another invasion wouldn't be wise on Agdrin's part, as he's already done it before. Too predictable))

"This place isn't your's, girl. Let the people you're holding captive leave. Now."

"I hold none but you captive. Ze temple protects itself. Spell is only partly its fault."

"Tough shit. I'm not letting you take their lives away for some bullshit lines carved into a rock. Let. Them. Go."

"I can't!"

"Well, I can." He suddenly surged forward, yanking the javelin from her hands while drawing power from the spell once again in advance.

She backed away and shoved her hand in her sealed pouch, drawing out two tarot cards with runes drawn on them between her fingers. She flicked them into the air, the runes glowing a bright blue as the cards flew towards him.
((Runes are different from normal magic. Just saying. And the cards are indestructible))
