((Lol I understand
"I'm Evelyn, but you can call me Eve." Eve tossed the apple core into a nearby trash can, kicking off the wall she'd been leaning on and walking closer. "By the way, I'm joining this conversation now so I'm no longer eavesdropping"
"What spell are you talking about?" Athena was curious. Maybe this had something to do with her missing friends.
Eve glanced at her suspiciously. "I don't know If you've noticed or not but this town isn't normal. It's nowhere close to normal. The magic surrounding it is extremely strong. I came here looking for the guy who killed my sister, but honestly, I don't think my meager fire magic stands a chance."
"Funny, I came here looking for my friends, but as far as I know, none of them are murderers. Not… actively, anyway."
"I doubt your friends are murderers. It's the guy that runs this place, he's a cold-blooded killer." She pointed to a large house on the top of the hill. "Over there, that's his hideout. At least, I think it is. I've only been spying on it for a week though."
"Is he, you know, magic? The one that put the spell on this place?" A week was a long time, it seemed, but she supposed it made sense if Eve was spying.
"Yeah." Eve returned her attention to Athena. "You're looking for your friends, right? Did they have any… talents? Were any of them especially strong? Or powerful?"
"No, they're all human, except one of them is a werewolf. But she's pretty peaceful. They left a trail of clues, so it seems highly unlikely they were taken, but I'm not sure why they would come here of all places." Her brow wrinkled.
He rubbed his chin, listening to the two.
Eve shook her head. "It's pretty boring here anyways." She muttered. "And I think they're onto me." She glanced at Athena once more and sighed. "I'll help you find your friends." She announced. "If you'll let me tag along."
"I'll help too," Runner offered.
"Sure. I only just got here. I could use a girl that knows her way around." Not wanting to be rude, she looked at Runner. "You wanna come?"
((Mixing up characters here
Eve crossed her arms. "Have you got a place to stay the night set up already, or what?" She gestured to the setting sun.
"I have no idea where to start," she admitted. "The last clue pointed to this town, but nowhere in it."
"Yeah, a little hotel about half a mile from here. Meet back in the morning?"
He shrugged. "I'll just chill out in an alley."
"I'll stick with my alley."
"Are you sure? You can stay in my room." She figured he was probably used to alleys, but it was nice to offer. "I've got two beds."
((sorry again. Bad connection
"Do whatever you want." Eve started to walk off, before pausing mid-step. "Where do you plan to meet up tomorrow?" She asked, not even bothering to turn around.
He thought about it for a moment. "You probably need someone to keep you from faling into whatever trap this place has set up." He shrugged. "Sure, why the hell not?"
"How about here? I think it's the only place I'll be able to find again."
"Alright. See you in the morning." With that Eve walked away in the direction of her house.
He shrugged. "Sounds fine to me. Where did you say the hotel was, again?"
"Maybe half a mile that way." She pointed in the opposite direction.
He shrugged. "Lead the way."
She turned, and began to jog without waiting for him to follow.
