Runner sat up, yawning as he threw the blankets off of him.
Athena smiled at him. "Coffee?" She held out a mug.
He shook his head. "I'm fine." He stood up, his hair standing up like he had put gel in it.
Not much of a coffee person, Eve sipped some warm tea whilst catching up on the recent news. Being a morning person has its benefits. One of which was the fact that Eve had been awake for quite some time already and was prepared to meet back up with her new friends.
"More for me." She put the mug to her lips and downed the contents. "We should get going." She stared at his hair and tried to muffle a laugh. "You might wanna do something about that."
"No, it's wonderful. I got the best stylist in the world."
"That's a choice?"
"Well, can't really avoid it, so might as well embrace it."
At this point, Eve had been waiting in the street where they had met the day before, not so patiently waiting for her companions.
"I have a feeling that Eve's waiting for us."
"Seems like the type to be up early. You ready?"
"Yeah."
Eve, was in fact waiting for them. "Sorry, Athena said. "Runner slept in."
Eve rolled her eyes. "I know." She stated. "He seems like the kind of person who would. Before we set to work on this odd mystery, I recommend we find someplace to sit down. I have a feeling this is going to be long story." She points in the direction of her house. "There's a cafe about a block that way. What do you say?"
He rubbed his nose. "I'm down."
"You have an odd habit of rubbing your face," she noted. "That's good with me. I need more coffee." She'd already had two, but she also had an addiction.
"It's called ADHD," he said, flexing his fingers.
"Oh, that makes sense…COFFEE HERE I COME! Wait where's the cafe again?"
((Sorry I got hungry.
"It's this way," Eve said, as she started walking in the direction she had pointed. "They have the best green tea. Their coffee is decent I guess. I'm not one for coffee."
((I'm under a tornado warning, imao, wish me luck
"Y'all don't want me on coffee," he said with a laugh.
"I don't care if it's good, I want the caffeine."
As they arrived at the cafe, a tall woman with dark skin and even darker hair greeted them with a smile. "Hello, Eve. You're back, and I see you brought some friends with you this time." Eve shrugged, taking a seat at an empty table. The woman stretched her hand out to Athena. "I'm Karlan, my husband and I own this here cafe. What can I get ya?"
Runner shrugged, feeling a little invisible as he followed Eve.
Eve watched this encounter with an amused expression on her face. "Hey Karlan, This is Runner and Athena. I'm helping them out with something." She paused before adding, "I'll have my usual."
Karlan nodded. "Alright. And for you Mr. Runner and Miss Athena?"
He shook his head. "I'm just here to loiter with these two."
(mind if I jump in?)
"That reminds me." Eve turned to Runner. "Athena is looking for her friends, but I never did find out what you were doing here."
((Of course not
"Coffee. A lot of it," Athena said to Karlan.
