I didn’t even think of that…
“Yes, they would be,” I murmured. “Let’s take you to your dorm mates. They’re healers, right? We’ll tell them it was my fault.”
I didn’t even think of that…
“Yes, they would be,” I murmured. “Let’s take you to your dorm mates. They’re healers, right? We’ll tell them it was my fault.”
“No.” My eyes flew open, alight with alarm. “Are you crazy? They won’t let me near you again—who knows what they’ll try. We can’t do that.”
I silenced her with a soft kiss, caressing her cheek.
“That’s better than going to the Healer and having them find out you’re a girl,” I murmured. “We can walk around their suspicions.”
“Well, then I’m not telling them how I got hurt,” I told him firmly, though my expression softened the moment his lips touched mine. “Or who hurt me.”
I chuckled softly.
“They’re still going to think it was me,” I told her gently. “Especially if you don’t tell them. And especially Andreas.”
“Sucks for him,” I muttered under my breath, rolling off of Colton so I could curl up by his side.
I laughed at her reply, resting my hand on her waist.
“He’s suspicious as it is,” I rubbed my thumb over the spot. “So might as well stop beating around the bush.”
I pressed against his thumb, lips tugging into a frown. “I’ll beat the bloody bush to death before I tell them… they’d hate you. Without cause. I’ll make something up, it’s fine.”
I sighed softly, closing my eyes. “Okay. I’ll leave that to you, then.”
Their hatred would not be without cause.
I nodded, satisfied with his response. After a moment, a cheeky glint entreated my eye. “Just so you know, Colton, there’s this particular spot between my shoulder blades that’s really sore at the moment…”
I opened my eyes, quirking an eyebrow. “Oh? And what do I do with that information?”
I rolled my eyes at his staged ignorance, turning over onto my other side so that the top half of my back was pressed against his hands. “Please?”
I pushed myself up, smirking, nearing my face to hers.
“Please what?” I whispered in her ears. “Tell me clearly, Elle. I won’t understand what you mean otherwise.”
My face flushed a deep crimson. "God damn it, Colton…."
A well-placed snicker from the direction of Scylla only served to deepen my embarrassment, but I continued nonetheless. "If you would, um, rub the sore spot between my shoulders, that would be more than ideal. Please."
“You sure you don’t want me kissing it better?” I teased, though my hands were already pressing against her shoulders gently. To add to my teasing, I bit her ear lightly, pulling on it a little.
A mortifying squeak escaped from my mouth, which I promptly shut and covered with both hands. "Colton!" The flustered and very half-hearted reprimand slipped through my fingers as my heart kickstarted.
I threw my head back and laughed, to which Key scrunched his nose at.
”Jesus, if I had known there would be a day my bondmate made dirty jokes, I would have prepared a feast,” he muttered, but I ignored him, instead paying more attention to my girlfriend. Was she, though? I hadn’t asked her to be my girlfriend yet…
“Oh, well,” I shrugged nonchalantly. “You missed your chance.”
I was horrified when a tiny whine of complaint slipped out in response to Colton's declaration. See what you've done to me? I'm a mess because of you….. and I wouldn't like it any other way…
Pressing back against his hands, I tangled our legs together, doing my best to be shameless rather than flustered.
Had I ever mentioned how adorable she was, more so when she was embarrassed? Her reactions to me teasing her made me feel pleased. I didn’t want her responding like this to anyone else.
“Well, if you say so…” I murmured, already bringing my lips down to the spot between her shoulders, pressing a soft kiss through the shirt. Though I could have pushed it down a little to expose her skin, I didn’t want to startle her, or make her uncomfortable.
I shivered, pleasure flooding my system.
Colton…. How could he manage to drive me this crazy with the lightest of touches? Magic flowed through his body and soul, it was true, but the sorcery he used on me was of a very different kind…
When she shivered, I paused, thinking I had upset her, but she didn’t protest. She didn’t freeze up like she did last time. I took that signal to kiss the back of her neck, eyes closed, lips lingering over the skin for a few seconds before I pulled away, thumbs digging into her skin to massage the sore spot she said she had.
I practically melted in his hands, a sigh of contentment leaving my mouth at each of his expert touches. "Prepare yourself for more of this in the future…." I murmured over my shoulder, a little sleepy by now. "I'll definitely be asking…. as well as returning the favour…"
I smiled softly, reaching over to kiss her cheek lightly.
“I look forward to it,” I murmured. “Sleep, little fairy. Get some more rest.”
"Fairy?" Once Colton had removed his hands from my back, I turned to face him again, playfully bumping my nose against his. "I'll have you know that I'm a fierce monster…. very dangerous…"
“Oh, I’m so scared,” I kissed her nose, pulling her towards me, pressing her against my chest. “All right then, my fierce monster. Get some sleep.”
"M'not tired…." I mumbled against his chest, scrunching up my nose in protest. "And you should be scared…. I'll… kiss you until you pass out… or something…"
I reached out to tilt her head, smirking.
“Oh? Is that so?” I touched our noses. “Please, do so. I wish for you to kiss me till I pass out.”
"Only if you go first….." I murmured, not being particularly careful with my wishes. "Then I'll think about it…"
“All right, my fierce fairy,” I pulled the covers over us, kissing the top of her head. “Go to sleep.”
I mumbled something in response, a protest, maybe? But he was so warm…. and his embrace was comforting, loving…. I found myself drifting off before I could do anything about it.
