She sighed and laid her head on his shoulder, "I'm not tired though," She mumbled, still running a hand through his hair.

He watched her with an amused look "how? It's been days since we've gotten a decent night of sleep." He lightly traced the side of her face, memorizing the curves and dips of her features with his touch

"I know..I'm just not tired..at all.." She closed her eyes lightly, her eyelids fluttering quickly as he traced the side of her face, "I want to be tired, but I'm not.."

He breathed a quiet laugh "you're practically falling asleep in my arms, love." he muttered, brushing his lips against the bridge of her nose "you'll be tired in the morning,"

She opened her eyes slightly and started tracing patterns on his shoulder, "I don't know….I'll probably be up all night and most of tomorrow..and then I'll crash."

He shook his head slightly and pulled the blankets over them both “i doubt that but if thats what you want.” He turned on his side, still holding her close, snuggling into the pillows “I wont stop you.” He mumbled, closing his eyes

Avalin sighed and laid her head over his heart, closing her eyes again, "I love you.." She murmured softly, feeling herself slowly drifting off to sleep.

"And I love you, my queen. what happened to staying up all night hm?" he asked with a smile, not opening his eyes,, tugging her close to him, silently swearing never to let her go

"I'm hoping that I can fall asleep.." She said softly, wrapping her arms around him and running her fingers over his back lightly.

His muscles tensed and he let out a slight groan "hoping. right." he managed

She smiled and moved her hands to his sides, barely touching him as she brushed her fingers up from his stomach to his ribcage. She placed a light kiss on his neck before laying her head against his chest again.

"Really making it hard to sleep aren't you love?" he growled lowly, tightening his grip on her, bunching the fabric of her dress in his hand.

She hummed softly in response, a shiver running through her as she continued to trail her fingers over him. She place a kiss on his chest and continued to smile.

"what did I do to deserve your interest, hm?" he asked softly, abandoning all hope of sleeping that night. "you're enjoying this way too much, dear."

She laughed lightly, "I may be enjoying this a little too much.." She admitted, tracing patterns over his stomach that were feather light.

He forced down a groan and sighed through his nose. "so what are we going to do all night then? If not sleep." He watched her with a grin, lightly tracing the exposed skin on her back

She shivered from his touch and shrugged, matching his grin but not saying anything.

His eyes suddenly glazed over in thought "I'm sorry by the way, for that night. For losing control." He said, referring to his outburst of rage the night she had gotten captured

"It's alright," she said, looking up at him, "You didn't damage anything permanently and you eventually regained control, so everything is alright."

" but I couldve hurt you, I saw the fear in your eyes. I saw that you were scared of me." He said glancing at her

She pulled herself close to him and sighed, "Yes, I was scared of you, but you didn't hurt me." She pressed a light kiss on his jaw, "You never would intentionally hurt me, even if you did lose control, some part of you would stop you from hurting me."

Her words hurt, because hey were true. She was afraid of him, but he also knew that he would do anything in his power to never hurt her. He sighed and pulled her closer, needing her warmth. "I would never hurt you," he muttered " no matter how out of control I am, the farthest thing in my mind is hurting you."

"I know that, and I trust you," She said before going silent, content with just being there with him. "I do have one question though, what happened to the guy that tried to kidnap me? After he and you disappeared I didn't see him again."

"he reunited with his sister. He needed a royal to close some bets." He explained "we were making sure she was safe before you and my brother found us." He drew circles on her shoulder

She nodded, "That was all he needed? Was to close some bets?" She shivered from his touch, a small smile appearing on her face.

He nodded "yeah, odd huh?" he shrugged and kissed her brow "tired yet?"

"No.." She shook her head and looked around the room, "And I don't know why either.."

He shook his head in dismay and inhaled deeply "you're killing me love." He said affectionately "absolutely killin me."

She sighed and looked up at him, "Sorry…you can go to sleep if you want," she said softly, snuggling closer to him and starting to hum an old song from her childhood.

He shook his head "I'll be fine," He held her tight, protectively. "Anything you want to do tomorrow, besides visit Strange?" he asked, thinking of different places they could go
