Turning to Guinevere, he spoke. "Oh, you also operate on information when taking a job? As a Bounty Hunter, I can understand that." He turned back. "What friend do you..speak of?"
Turning to Guinevere, he spoke. "Oh, you also operate on information when taking a job? As a Bounty Hunter, I can understand that." He turned back. "What friend do you..speak of?"
Raven took a breath. "With all due respect," she began, trying to remain calm, "I wouldn't be here if I were a little girl." She was furious with everyone at the moment. She agreed with Guinevere–Aiday was too trusting, but now was not the time.
The beast blinked a bit, knowing the female had meant it. It remained sitting back on its haunches with its offspring. Blue eyes glowed softly, looking down to those around it. It still felt uneasy with all the weapons and potential dangers around. It may seem no one meant harm, but it knew that could all change swiftly. It would prefer avoiding conflict, less it or its young were threatened.
The little one in its arms settled its head on its parent's shoulder. The small thing gave an defeated sigh, blue mist seeming to rise from its small nostrils.
Aiday turned to the bounty hunter. "A friend. His name is Nmere."
"Why would this Nmere be interested in meeting with me?"
"He's smart. He likes to learn things."
"Learn things? What sorts of things?"
There came a soft crackle, and a figure emerged into view.
She was tall, dark-skinned, and lithe, with black-and-blonde hair in one long braid woven with gems and pieces of colored twine. Her hair was very long, coming down to the back of her knees, and she wore a pair of jeans and a blue velvet tunic with large, monk-like sleeves. Her boots came up to her knees and were highly polished. A jeweled sword was at her side.
"I do so hate to interrupt," she said, "but what's going on?"
Things had seemed to calm down. The once agitated voices seemed to quiet down for the time being. As such, the draconic beast set its offspring on the ground. Once being free, the small creature gave a happy noise, starting to shuffle around its parent, exploring.
The sudden appearance of new comer instantly put it on alert. The creature's tail suddenly slunk around, creating a makeshift 'pen'.
"Stranger," its deep voice sounded.
All blue eyes were focused on the one who had suddenly appeared. It was on full alert, which was to be expected with any parent, to keep their young protected.
Stardew holds up her hands. "I'm not a danger to you. I generally operate on a you-attack-first system, which, by the look of you, you do too. Don't mind me, I'm not going to use this." She gestures toward her sword, but doesn't touch it.
Aiday peered at her. "Why are you here?" she asked curiously.
Once again, at the sight of weapons, the beast started to shift uneasily. However, seeing the female have her hands palms facing forward, which was usually a gesture of peace, least from what it could remember.
The creature's little one clambered over its parent's tail, giving a surprised yelp as it tumbled off, falling in a rather comedic fashion. Hearing the sound, made the larger beast turn its head, giving a concerned rumble, but seeing the young was alright, the large beast seemed to give a sigh of relief.
[a short figure seemed to stumble out of nowhere, nearly careening into someone but righting himself quickly. once he recovered, the elven looking male stared around]
"who're you?"
(Should we cut off the group now? Like no more?)
((OOC: Well, it's a charrie chat, and the owner of this chat does not have any rules currently))
(Okey)
Stardew turns toward Aiday.
"Wanderlust," Stardew says, shrugging. "Always in search of a new adrenaline kick."
She extended her hand. "Stardew Avalon. And you are?"
Nevihata took note of the newcomers. “What is this, a party of some sorts?” He turned around.
The offspring of the creature had stood up, to only have someone run right into it. The young thing gave a soft snort, all four blue eyes coming to rest on the short, elven looking male before it. The creature tilted its head, giving a questioning chirrup, quite curious of this new and possible potential playmate.
[amrua's hard expression melted as he noticed the critter staring at him. he immediately crouched a bit, making a soft chirrup back]
The small thing instantly gave what could only be described as a 'happy sound'. It reared backwards to stand on its back legs, shorter middle limbs tucked close to its stomach, the final pair up and pawing the air. Its tail swayed back and forth, nearly losing its balance, but still somehow managing.
As for its parent, the beast paused, hearing the sounds of its young. The larger beast turned its heavy horned head to see what its little one was doing, seeing it was currently trying to play with the newest stranger. All four of the creature's blue eyes narrowed.
The deep voice resonated, "Gentle…play? Little one get rough, but no harm…"
[amrua cracked a thin smile and nodded. he then stood all the way up, jumping a little on the balls on his feet and waiting to see the kind of play the little beast wanted to do]
"Hbduh! Whuh?! Wh– WHY ARE THERE SO MANY PEOPLE HERE?" Guinevere boomed. She made sure that her attention was away from the little creature, but it couldn't help wincing at the sound of her voice and looking towards its mother for comfort. Guinevere began pacing back and forth, thinking aloud.
"And here I thought this was gonna be an easy job! Protect two little girls, one's armed, the other's a werewolf! "Real docile and cute,' they said! 'Hide in the mansion twenty miles north with the Boss until the contact arrives, easiest 200 gold you'll ever make,' they said! Now I've got ten other folks just passing through and a lizard with a baby, deciding to just MOSEY on over and have a chat!" She continued to grumble like this, much quieter now. She stopped after a few seconds, turning her attention to the woods around the group.
"IS THERE ANYONE ELSE HIDING IN THE BUSHES AROUND HERE?!" she called out, her dark face almost as red as her hair.
[amrua chuckled darkly, shrugging]
a: "probably"
Stardew turned to the bushes by her. "Probably should come out now, guys."
"Darn," a voice says, and two young men scramble out. They bow to Guinevere, grinning.
[amrua snickers and turns back to the young creature]
The large beast seemed to relax at the other's response. Though its form went on full alert again at the sudden outburst of the female. It looked over, blue eyes dimming down.
As for its little one, it seemed even more happy to know that it was being allowed to play. Though at the sudden loud voice, the creature dropped to all six limbs, tail tucking between its legs. It backed up until its backend was resting against its parent. At the soft, comforting rumble of the parent though, seemed to reassure it.
The offspring turned its attention back to the male. It released another chirrup, thin trails of blue mist rising from its nostrils. It very lightly batted at the other. It seemed to know the other wasn't another creature like itself, so would most likely be more fragile than it. Least that was the way the little thing saw it.
[amrua let a hoarse, high laugh loose, gently swatting back. then a mimicing chirrup again. he decided to experiment, giving a series of bright trills, churrs, and chirps]
Raven tried to hide a snicker, but nevertheless received a glare from her "guardian".
"Remind me again why you're 'protecting us'? And why you didn't bother telling me about her?" She guestered at Aiday.
Guinevere, at first annoyed by the other people who also appeared from the shrubbery, decided her efforts were best focused on simply trying to adapt. A few deep breaths later, she tackled the first order of business: the little girls.
"I have no clue why I'm protecting you. All I really care about is the reward money at the end, and as annoying as situations like this can get I am contractually obligated to care for your existence and make sure that you two have nary a scratch on you when we arrive at our destination. We picked up Aiday in a different town from where got you, but she's been only a few steps behind us at this point. I'm not expecting you two to be bestest buddies, but I'm surprised you only formally met her a few minutes ago."
