“Hungry, but I don’t want to move.” He frowned, looking over at Jasper, half asleep.
“So am I bringing food in here?” Jasper looked at Catori just to double check.
“Hungry, but I don’t want to move.” He frowned, looking over at Jasper, half asleep.
“So am I bringing food in here?” Jasper looked at Catori just to double check.
Catori nodded, smiling sweetly at him. "Could you?"
Jasper nodded, returning several minutes later with two skewers of roasted carrots and asparagus along with hardtack. He set several cloths on the ground as napkins, handing each member their share. “I’ll be right outside if you need me.” He quickly fled the scene.
Catori watched him go with an amused smile. "He's a bit scared of you."
“A little fear is healthy.” Damian smiled faintly, munching on a piece of roasted carrot.
"Be careful with how much fear though. Many a king has fallen because his people feared him, and turned on him." Catori said, an arm still wrapped around him.
Damian chuckled. “I might need some help with that.” He eyed Jasper, leaning to the side to spy on his servant.
"Establish trust, show that you care, be open to advice and willing to give it yourself when the time comes." She counted on her fingers. "There's more, but it's a lot of loose ideas and wisdom that comes with time, and experience."
Damian fake scoffed. “Ugh, benevolence.” He wrinkled up his nose. “I suppose I’ll try.”
Catori rolled her eyes, nudging him. "You want to be a good king, listen when someone tries to help. I'm not even charging you my usual advice rates." She joked light heartedly.
“To be fair, you’ve already been paid.” Damian raised an amused eyebrow at Catori, nodding his head towards the carriage where the pouch with her 1,000 crowns sat.
"Oh, that is a fair point. Quite a bit of money, too." Catori made a face as she glanced towards the carriage.
“Part if it is for our wedding expenses.” Damian reminded lightly, chewing his lip. “Do we any other thoughts besides flame resistant dress? Do I need to be flame resistant too?”
"Uh, no, you should be fine. Just be prepared to…take a step back?" Catori's cheeks flushed, and she looked away.
“Do you have any idea what you want your dress to look like?” Damian had completely calmed from his earlier flashback, now contented with fantasizing about their wedding.
"No clue. Just something simple, I guess." Catori bit her lip. She hadn't ever really thought about marriage, preferring to ignore the inevitable.
“You’ll need something amber, a pendent maybe? Something to accent your eyes.” Damian mused, crunching on some hardtack now.
"Accent, huh? Not a pendant, that spot is reserved. Any other ideas?" Catori found herself interested in this planning, something a bit unexpected.
((beeeeedtiiiiiime sooooooon. I shall see you in the morn my dude
Goodnight!))
Damian didn’t want to interfere with any cultural customs Catori had, so he didn’t make any move to protest. “Perhaps we can locate some eyeshadow for you. Your eyes are enchanting. It’d be a shame not to show them off.”
Catori wasn't quite sure how to respond to that statement, so she went with something safer. "I believe I've used it a few times, eyeshadow. Kind of feels funny at first."
“Well, I suppose it’s up to you.” Damian huffed, peaceably eating as they talked. “Should I assume Copper will be flying our rings to us?”
"That would be adorable." Catori laughed happily. "I could even try and convince her to wear a small hat."
Damian smiled, rolling his eyes. “Whatever you wish. Can I assume your family will be coming?”
"Absolutely. It would be practically impossible to keep them from coming." She snorted. "It's going to be incredibly chaotic, most likely. How about your family?"
“My father, certainly. The Queen as well. I am hesitant to invite any of my brothers.” Damian furrowed his eyebrows in thought as he considered this.
Lotus stepped into the carriage making sure her illusion lifted her skirt up as she entered. She noticed Pine wasn't looking at her, once he had entered she asked, "Is something wrong Pine?"
"Nothing," She said softly, shaking her head, "At least my brother got out of there in time…I want to get away as well, that's why my mother offered for me to come here..If I marry a prince I don't have to go back."
Pine looked down at his feet and nodded, walking back to the carriage. He opened Lotus's door again.
"And you're not allowed to do anything about it, huh," Victor said quietly.
(Because these got buried by the Catori and Damien fluff.)
(THANK YOU sorry)
Pine glanced up, shut the door, got in the other side. "No." He put his head back on his knees as the carriage took off again.
"What about your mother?"
(Lol, your welcome!)
Lotus gave him a curious look. He wasn't acting as she was used to. Then again she didn't know him that well, "Are you positive? You don't seem okay."
Alexia sighed, "I don't know, she said that she'd be fine, that she was planning to talk to my father." Her fingers were turning back to her normal skin color very slowly as she calmed down.
