Thanks!
Thanks!
alright, do you want to start tonight?
If youâd like to.
should we start on the first day of school?
Ysssssss
alright! Anything you want to include/say/input before we start?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Nope. Letâs do this!
alright, just give me a few minutes to type out the starter!
Alrighty!
(also, do you want to use third-person POV or first? I feel like first would be fun, but I'm totally fine with either)
(Iâm kinda used to third⌠butnitâs whatever youâd like. First would just be a weird twist, but itâd be fun one once we get used to it.)
(if you're up for it, I'd sort of like the change of using first)
(Sure, letâs do it.)
(thumbs up)
Everywhere I looked, there was someone in a light, grey-blue skirt and a white button-down shirt. More specifically, I was completely surrounded by attractive girls in cute outfits.
It was a struggle to walk down the packed school hallway, my body constantly jostled by someone in the crowd as I made my way to where I was supposed to beâthe auditorium. I felt like an ugly imposter in this school of beautiful girls, all of which were strangers to me, but not for long. Eventually, everyone began to filter in through the double doors and towards the nearest seats they could find, and I was incredibly relieved to see that most appeared to be as hopelessly confused as I was.
I took a seat near the front, anxiously adjusting my pleated skirt.
(sorry that was bad)
(Wait wait so would she be announced to everyone else? What?)
(What no theyâre in the auditorium because the principal is going to do the start of year introduction for the new students
Do you not do that at your school?)
(Nope not whatsoever lmao okay sorry)
Oh sorry⌠want me to change it?)
(No itâs okay! I can work with it ^-^)
(Sorry again)
(Itâs alright!)
I slumped into the auditorium with a slight smile on my face. The day back was fun already. The confusion written on everyoneâs faces tickled some sick amusement in my heart. To see cocked eyebrows, hear nervous laughs, and see the uncomfortable body language just made me want to laugh. Especially in the freshmen. I itched at the tall stocking and stretched as I found a seat near the front, yawning. Today would be a blow-over day. I just knew it.
I wiped my sweating palms on the front of my skirt, eyes flickering to the side as a girl sat down next to me, appearing to be amused. Everyone my age was a returning studentâŚ. I was probably the only new person in the grade.
As if going to a boarding school for the first time wasnât nerve-wracking enough.
I quickly realized how rigid my body had gone and worked to relax it, lowering my shoulders, crossing my legs in an action I hoped seemed casual. My eyes slid sideways again to the girl next to meâŚ. was I supposed to talk to her? Or should I just pretend she wasnât there?
After grappling with myself for a solid five minutes, I cleared my throat quietly and turned to her, brushing a lock of hair behind my ear. âHey, Iâm a little new here. My names Lauren, whatâs yours?â
I crossed one leg over the other as I sat, yawning widely and throwing my arms up and behind my head. The buzz of laughter and speech purred through the auditorium as girls entered, swarming around the back and middle areas like an army of ants.
I glanced to my right, noticing a totally tensed up girl. I hadnât seen her around before. Her throat-clearing caught my attention, somehow, over the noise. âHey, there, Iâm Alle. Alle Sumper.â I gave her a warm smile.
I raked a hand though my hair, returning her smile, though mine held traces of relief that sheâd actually replied. âItâs nice to meet you.â
Was my answer too stiff, too formal? I hastened to add on, not wanting to seem like some sort of snob. âWhat grade are you in?â
I nodded in response, almost going back to what I was doing until she spoke again. âOh? Iâm in eleventh grade.â I glanced back at the nervous-looking girl.
âWhich are you in?â
âEleventh.â I balled my hands into fists, trying to find an outlet for the nervous energy crackling through my veins. âHow long have you been going here?â
The girl looked nice enough, friendly and laid-back⌠hopefully, I hadnât weirded her out yet.
I yawned and stretched my arms up. âIâve been here since freshman year,â I said after my wide yawn, relaxing slowly. âYouâre new, right?â
I nodded, lips parting to let through another stream of words, but a loud noise at the front of the room drew my focus away.
It was a stately, salt-and-pepper haired man who I recognized as the school principal, calling for our attention. I turned my head away from Alle as he cleared his throat again, a hush spreading rapidly over the other students in the auditorium.
(Who will be the head honcho?)
