(Time shkippy?)
(Yah)
The morning came quick, and Miles rolled around in his cushioning pile of stuff (I have yet to figure out what he's sleeping on lol). So much for taking a bath… He grumbled and wrapped his blanket around him more. I can always just take a dip in the stream to rinse things off….
Emmeline was waking up slowly, grumbling and rubbing her eyes as she slowly sat up. She looked out the window and squinted at how bright it seemed, laying back down and pressing her face into the bed while throwing her blanket all the way over herself to make a blanket shell.
(Blanket shell? Lol)
Miles sat up and rubbed his eyes, soon standing and dragging his blanket with him. That was the first good sleep I've had in a while, He thought, tugging the door open. The dew made his feet uncomfortably wet, and he rolled his eyes. Maybe a path wouldn't be too outlandish either. He bundled the blanket around his naked abdomen and chest, taking the shortest route to the house.
He opened the door up with his key and headed on inside. He saw Emmiline – or what he thought was her – buried in the bed. "Good morning," Miles said with heavy gruffness.
(Yeah, :) have you ever made one?)
She popped her head out from under the blanket and looked up at him, "Mornin'" she said sleepily before going back under the blanket and blocking out the light from outside. She felt her cheeks grow warm from both the lack of air circulation under the blanket and the fact that she realized that Miles wasn't wearing a shirt.
(Lol of course it's the first time I've heard a name for it though.)
Miles rolled his eyes and headed on over to his bed, chuckling a little. How cute. He sat down and rubbed his head, fluffing his hair and stretching out. "I assume breakfast is on me?"
(XD that's what I call it when I make one, either that or a mini blanket fort)
"I can make breakfast," she said from under the blanket, poping her head out once again and pulling the blanket so that it just left her head out. Her cheeks were still a little pink and she looked over at him, blinking a few times to wake up.
(Currently making a blanket shell right now because I want to X3)
(I made one too :3 I'm spreading my legs out and…. My bed is way to small.)
Miles shrugged. "Alright – if you insist." Hr sat back a little, then glanced around a bit. "Did… Where did you put my money from yesterday?" He asked, squinting at her out of suspicion. Maybe I just misplaced it or something, who knows….
(oof, dat's not fun tho making blanket shells is)
"I'm fairly certain I gave it back to you," she said, patting her pockets and realizing that she still had it, "Never mind, I have it.." She pulled it out and stuck her hand out from under the blanket, holding it out for him to take. An embarrassed flush came to her cheeks and she wondered why she was so nervous around him.
Miles walked over and grabbed it from her. "Well, I'm fairly certain you can't make breakfast while you're sitting in bed like that," He said, tossing the coins onto the nightstand. When he swiveled back, he let out a light laugh. "That is, unless you want me to make it instead."
She pulled her hand back under the blanket and looked up at him, "I can make breakfast, just give me a minute to brace myself for having to leave the comfort of a nice bed." Emmeline smiled up at him before slowly coming out from under the blanket, grumbling to herself and making various, over exaggerated whines of laziness as she did so. Eventually she did get out from under the blanket and stand up, rubbing her arms and looking at the blanket one last time.
"…From the sounds of it, it seems like you'll die before you get yourself to the kitchen," He said lowly. "If you really, really, really want to stay in bed, I'll make it for you and you can stay in bed." Geez…. We're fighting over chores for Pete's sake… He frowned and wiped his perspired face.
She shook her head, "I'm going to make breakfast," she stretched as she walked to the kitchen, a small smile on her face as she started to get the ingredients to make breakfast out and ready.
"Fine," He went over to his bed and sat down. Then act like it. Miles let out a stifled laugh. Sure sounded like you wanted to stay in bed, and I let you, but whatever. He sat back in his bed and kicked his feet up. "Today is a possible day that we go into town and get some stuff. Who knows…"
"Alright, though I'll have to get the seeds in the garden soon if you want them to start growing on time." She continued cooking and hummed lightly to herself, getting out a plate for each of them. The food finished cooking quickly and she filled the plates, bringing one to Miles, "Here you go."
"You can plant the seeds whenever you want. But I want to go into town for lunch and dinner tonight." He glanced down at his meal and said a mere thanks before quickly digging in. He hadn't realized how hungry he was until he was done with it within seconds. Wow, that was pretty good. He thought, smiling.
Emmeline nodded and smiled, "I'll plant as much as I can this morning, lunch and dinner in town sounds nice." She ate her food quickly and made sure the plate was empty before offering to take his into the kitchen to wash quick.
Miles got off his bed and went into the kitchen to put his plates away. He furrowed his brow a bit and turned to her. "You seem a bit flustered this morning – is everything goin' okay on your end?" You can never be too sure when it comes to her….
"Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm fine," She said, her cheeks turning slightly pink again. She looked at the floor and smiled lightly, "I'm fine."
He folded his arms. "Really…." He said sarcastically. "Then why is your face all blushy, huh?" As much as it was just teasing, Miles kind of wanted to get back from what she did a bit earlier since they met.
She looked around the kitchen and avoided looking at him, "No reason," She said, feeling her face grow even more red. "It's..um..it's really hot in here," She said, making up any excuse she could.
"Yeah, sure, whatever," Miles replied a bit quickly. "Why don't you just go and plant the seeds if you're so flustery and 'hot in here,'" He quoted her. And maybe we can find out a bit more later… He smirked.
"I can do that," She grabbed the seeds and darted outside without another word, her face as red as a tomato. She went to the garden and started planting the seeds, flustered and quite embarrassed. "Stupid, stupid, get yourself together." She told herself, trying not to look back at the house.
Miles shrugged and headed to his room. "She's just making it harder on herself by not telling me." Although the truth was, he just wanted to see how many lies she could come up with before she has to confess. The whole world would be a lot better if she quit hiding stuff…
He sat on his bed and let out a low growl. But I'm the same in every way, too….
Emmeline continued planting the seeds, humming quietly to herself to calm down. Soon her face wasn't red and she smiled lightly, happy to be planting the seeds in the morning when it was wasn't as hot out.
Miles got up again and did some other stuff he wanted done before they went to town. He washed breakfast dishes, other plates and stuff and organized the room a bit.
Nothing like living in a clean environment… He took a peek out the kitchen window and Emmiline was all better then, planting seeds happily.
She was still humming a song to herself, singing a word or two of the song when she remembered. Most of the seeds were planted and Emmeline was happily surprised by the amount of work she had accomplished, taking a short break and looking up at the sky.
Miles opened up the window and called out to her, "You almost done? I want to get there before the big midday rush so we can get a place to eat, ya know." Those people get pushy when it comes to getting what they want….
