Gray’s POV:
As I was busy sulking, a little girl walked up to me and looked at me with her big, warm eyes.
I knelt down next to her.
“Wow, what’s this little princess’s name?” I asked with a grin on my features.
Gray’s POV:
As I was busy sulking, a little girl walked up to me and looked at me with her big, warm eyes.
I knelt down next to her.
“Wow, what’s this little princess’s name?” I asked with a grin on my features.
The girl, who appeared to be about seven, chewed on her bottom lip anxiously and tugged at her sleeve.
“I’m Esme,” she said shyly, blinking up at Gray.
Gray’s POV:
“Esme,” I repeated with a soft smile. “That’s a beautiful name for a beautiful girl, no?”
I patted her head softly.
“What do you want to do, sweetheart?”
She rocked back and forth on her heels.
“The other kids don’t want to play with me. They say that Chinese girls can only… can only play with other Chinese girls. Will you play with me?”
Gray’s POV:
I frowned.
“Well, they’re just mean kids,” I shook my head. “Of course I’ll play with you. What do want to play?”
A huge smile lit up the little girl’s face, one bright enough to rival the sun. “Really?”
Gray’s POV:
I grinned at her.
“There it is, that smile,” I grinned. “Yes, we’ll play anything that you want.”
“No one’s ever said that to me before,” Esme said slowly, still beaming. “Do you like to play with LEGO?”
Gray’s POV:
I bowed.
“Anything the Princess desires,” I said dramatically. “If the Princess wishes to play with LEGO, then I shall obey her command.”
Her grin broadened, then suddenly diminished. “Are Chinese girls allowed to be Princesses?”
Gray’s POV:
I frowned.
“Why shouldn’t they be?” I got on my feet before picking her up in my arms. “You’re already a Princess! What are you saying, Your Highness?”
Esme let out a surprised squeak, before bursting into a fit of giggles.
Gray’s POV:
I wiggled my fingers to tickle her sides, a wide grin on my features.
(Gray, stop being adorable my poor heart can’t take it)
Esme burst into peals of laughter, wriggling in the air as he continued to tickle her. “Stop!”
(Gray says he can’t stop being adorable if it’s in his genes. XD)
Gray’s POV:
I raised her higher until she was sitting on my shoulders, grinning at her from below.
“That good?” I asked her with a smile.
(Aww)
“Yeah.” She grinned happily, slipping her fingers into his hair.
Unbeknownst to the both of them, I’d finished handing out toys and was now watching from afar, a warm smile on my face.
Gray's POV:
"Now, I shall take you to our LEGO castle!" I declared loudly, marching towards the toys. There was a pile of LEGO on the floor and I immediately took a step back, gasping. "Princess! It seems our castle has been destroyed! Whatever shall we do now?"
Esme giggled uncontrollably, trying to muffle her laughter and inevitably failing. “Build—Build another one?”
Gray's POV:
"Princess, you are really smart!" I bent down to set her on the floor. "Then let's start building another one."
Esme, grinning from ear to ear, reached for a pile of yellow LEGO.
Eden's POV:
All of the kids were engaged in different ways. Some were playing with Violeta, and most of the kids were demanding Sterling and Gray's presence. All except one.
I walked up to him and sat down next to him.
"You don't want to play?" I asked him, tilting my head to the side.
"I don't like crowds…" the boy mumbled back without looking up at me. I nodded, leaning back.
"I don't like them, either," I told him, making myself comfortable on the floor. "So I guess I'll just with you like this."
Eden’s POV:
I smiled softly as I watched him with the girl, unconsciously imagining him with our before I immediately shook the thought out of my head.
“Really?” Estella asked, finally smiling brightly, looking over at me before she turned back to Sterling. “It means ‘star’?”
I rolled my eyes. Of course.
All the other kids had gathered around Gray and Violeta, excited for the gifts. I already explained to both of them about distributing them, so I needed need to worry.
My eyes caught a line child at the corner of the room, playing with a toy train by himself. I raised an eyebrow, slowly walking towards him.
Sterling’s POV:
“Yeah, star. Like a bright, shining star,” I said with a grin, booping her little nose. “Do you like the stars?”
Estella nodded furiously.
"I love stars!" she exclaimed before she caught Gray picking up a girl and pulling her over his shoulders. She turned back towards Sterling and raised her arms. "Pick me up!"
Sterling’s POV:
I chuckled and straightened before bending down to swing her up onto my shoulders. “There. Is the little star happy?”
"Yes!" She exclaimed, laughing as her fingers clenched his hair in them.
Eden's POV:
I observed Sterling with Estelle with a soft smile, already imagining him with our child. I sighed. I also wanted his atten–what am I even doing?
"Come on, let's play," I turned my attention to the boy again. "What do you want to do?"
The boy fell silent for a while.
"Read…" he said quietly.
"Well, then we'll read," I said to him. "I'm Eden."
"Luke," the boy answered and I almost laughed. We pulled each other to our feet before Luke led me to where the books were, and I followed after him slowly, sneaking a glance at Sterling and the little girl.
(Should we skip?)
(To where?
NOT IT)
(When they’re leaving?
Not it. 😁)
(Works for me.
Poor Topaz. XD)
