“Fine, let me rephrase.” I squeezed his hand back. “I can’t keep it together around my gorgeous, amazing boyfriend.”
“Fine, let me rephrase.” I squeezed his hand back. “I can’t keep it together around my gorgeous, amazing boyfriend.”
Gray’s POV:
I hugged her tighter, resting my head on her shoulder.
“And you think I can keep it together around you?” I whispered. “You drive me crazy. It’s like I’m riding a roller coaster. It’s insane.”
The sound of his voice, volume dipping, sent shivers down my spine.
“You don’t show it as easily as I do..”
Gray’s POV:
I chuckled.
“Do you feel that, Vy?” I asked her in a low voice. “My heart. It beats so fast when you’re around, like it’s been frozen and only functions when you’re with me. The only reason I can keep it together is because I’ve been in love you for so long. You have no idea what you do to me. Sometimes I feel like I’ll go crazy because of you.”
I opened my mouth to respond, and shut it soon after. He had rendered me speechless once again, so I merely squeezed his hand and lifted it to the spot around my own heart, which was thundering by now.
Gray’s POV:
I felt her heart beat fast and felt pleased. It was only fair that it was, after all. I wasn’t the only one feeling like this.
“I love you,” I said to her strongly. “So, so much. I can’t ever imagine a time where I don’t love you. No matter what happens, I’ll always love you. Nothing will change that.”
“You have no idea,” I whispered, “How happy that makes me feel. Just knowing that you’re here, and that you care that much… I hope you know that I feel the same way.”
Gray’s POV:
“I’m glad you feel the same way…” I held on to her tighter. “It hurt when you hated me. I always wanted to put a smile on your face, but you never smiled around me. Now that I can do it… it makes me feel like I can do anything.”
“I never hated you,” I promised, “I just… I was trying to protect myself, I guess. I’m sorry..”
Gray’s POV:
“No,” I kept up my hold on her. “Do not apologize. I know why you did it. I don’t blame you. I have you now, and you have me, so nothing else matters to me anymore.”
The song changed, now Atlas, by Poesy, and I smiled widely. “I love you.,”
Gray’s POV:
I tilted her head so I could lean in to press my lips against hers.
“I love you, too,” I whispered. “Every day, minute, second… I’ll always love you.”
Sterling's POV:
"Of course, Eden. You don't have to ask to speak," I said, pulling back to give her a curious look. "What is it?"
Eden’s POV:
I shifted my eyes away from him, cheeks getting hotter.
“You… looked really cool today,” I mumbled. “With Estella. You looked like father. It was nice.”
(Isn’t it still the same day? Lol.)
Sterling’s POV:
I blinked a couple of times before clearing my throat, a light pink making its way to my cheeks. She thought I was good enough with kids that I looked like a father? That… That was completely unexpected.
“Well… I’m glad you thought so,” I murmured gently. “It would be nice to be a father one day…”
(Oh, wait, right.)
Gray’s POV:
I tilted her head so I could lean in to press my lips against hers.
“I love you, too,” I whispered. “Every day, minute, second… I’ll always love you.”
“I’m so glad….” I murmured into his lips. “That I have someone who loves me like that.”
Eden’s POV:
He was blushing. My teasing boyfriend, who hardly ever got embarrassed, was blushing. I couldn’t believe my eyes!
“Um… you will be,” I said quietly, darting my eyes towards anywhere but him. “One day. When everything’s settled.”

Gray’s POV:
I smiled against her lips before I pulled away and nuzzled her neck.
“Tired?”

Sterling’s POV:
“Cool… I— Yeah. And one day, you will be an amazing mother,” I said softly, trying to beat down the blush from my face. I pressed a lingering kiss to her forehead and hugged her close. “Someday, you’ll be an amazing wife…”
Eden’s POV:
I was about to say something in reply, but a yawn escaped my lips. I covered my mouth, resting my head against Sterling’s chest.
He thought I’d make an amazing mother, as well as a wife. That comment made me very happy.
Sterling’s POV:
I smiled softly and kissed the top of her head. She must be exhausted… And it was getting pretty late, anyway.
“Let’s get to bed. It’s getting late,” I murmured softly.
Eden’s POV:
I nodded, continuing to lean against him.
“You aren’t hungry?” I questioned. “You didn’t eat anything…”
Sterling’s POV:
“I’ll eat after I know you’re asleep,” I assured her, picking her up bridal-style and carrying her to our bedroom. “For now, I’m okay.”
Eden’s POV:
I immediately threw my arms around Sterling’s neck, cheeks turning redder as he carried me to our bed.
“You can eat right now…” I mumbled. “I might not sleep right away. I don’t want you to stay hungry.”
Gray’s POV:
I tilted her head so I could lean in to press my lips against hers.

“Tired?”
“Sort of? Are you?” I asked, nestling closer.
Gray's POV:
I nodded, hugging her tighter.
"I am," I murmured. "Kids are such a work."
Suddenly, I remembered the events of the orphanage, and an amused smile tugged at my lips. “I still can’t believe you were jealous of that seven year-old.”
Eden’s POV:
I immediately threw my arms around Sterling’s neck, cheeks turning redder as he carried me to our bed.
“You can eat right now…” I mumbled. “I might not sleep right away. I don’t want you to stay hungry.”
Sterling’s POV:
I hummed and leaned down to kiss her forehead before setting her down on the bed. “How about we compromise? You try to sleep, and I’ll go make myself something quickly. I’ll eat in here until I’m sure you’re askeep,” I suggested, sitting down in the edge of the bed.
Eden’s POV:
I chewed on my lower lip before nodding.
“Okay…” I agreed quietly, although I just want to curl up against him and sleep. He always made it simple for me to fall asleep. He kept the nightmares away. “Let’s do that.”
