"Anytime." She shrugged and left the room, only to go into the room next door to hers. After making up the bed with fresh sheets, pillows, and a duvet, she made a quick trip back to her room and started rummaging around in the back of her wardrobe. She pulled out a pair of dark, cotton sweatpants, and a large maroon jumper, handing them both to Alex. "If you need the bathroom just go down the corridor to the left and it's right at the end in front of you."
He nods and smiles softly. "Thaks again." With that he went to the bathroom to change.
While Alex was out of her room she quickly changed into her own pyjamas. She sunk into her bed and stared at the ceiling, releasing a large sigh. This is complicated, and awkward.. I didn't realise Alex was being hurt..
When he changed he knew something was wrong. He yelled from the bathroom. "LEONIE?"
Leonie was up in a flash, stumbling down the hall to the bathroom as quickly as she could with a light head. "Alex???"
"I can't sleep in a binder…This is a problem…"
"Is it?" She didn't understand what was wrong about sleeping without a binder, since she knew they shouldn't be worn overnight. "What is the problem?"
"Sweetie you're going to have to explain, I can't read minds.."
"Something you don't have yet…"
"Oh I see, them." she nodded slowly but then shook her head again. "I'm sorry, I still don't understand the problem. Is it that it would be uncomfortable? What do you usually sleep in at home?"
"At home, I wear really baggy shirts…" He seemed uneasy.
"Hmm.." she thought for a moment. "This isn't the best of ideas but I could ask my dad if he has a shirt you can borrow?"
She nodded silently and turned to go downstairs. She pushed open the living room door with an obviously nervous smile.
"Dad…."
"What did you do?" Isaac asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Nothing! I just came to ask you for a shirt that Alex can borrow."
"I thought you kept some of your 'old' clothes."
"He needs something more comfortable.."
"Go on, raid my closet."
Leonie nodded firmly, running back upstairs. She found a large shirt in her dad's closet and returned to the bath room, handing the shirt to Alex. "I hope this is alright.."
"Thank you…" He sighed in relief. "How did he react?"
She shrugged. "He was a little confused but I don't think he minded." She turned away from the door, wandering back up to her room. "You're not in a rush, take it easy."
"I will." He shuts the door and changes. When he gets out and sighs. "I need to say thanks later."
Leonie lay like a starfish on her bed, face down in her pillow. It has been a log, awkward day. I don't think anything else can increase the awkwardness, right?
I thought too soon!
Leonie quickly rolled on her side, propping her head up on her hand, smiling awkwardly. "Hello."
"You ok? You seem distracted."
You made her feel weird idiot.
"No I'm alright, I just have a lot on my mind. Like are you comfortable, will you be comfortable in the guest room, are you hungry. Ya know, because I care.."
"Just sleepy." He states. "Other than that I'm good."
"Do you want to get some shut eye then?" she asked, sitting up slowly.
He shrugs. "Most likely the best option."
"Alright." She stood up and led Alex to the guest room next door. It was fairly spacious, with a tall mirror, and chest of drawers by the opposite wall. "I am literally next to you if you need anything."
She gently, very awkwardly, rubbed his back with a nervous smile. "Sleep well okay?"
