"It's never too early," Marla teased as Chelsea walked away.
"It's never too early," Marla teased as Chelsea walked away.
“Apparently not.” Gwen smiled shaking her head in amusement. “Okay, decisions now.” She eyed the menu. “Any ideas?”
“How much of a meat eater are you?” Marks asked, biting the inside of her cheek as her eyes trailed down the menu.
“Right now I’d take out a T-Rex if I had the chance.” Gwen raised an eyebrow at Marla, her gaze filled with curiosity.
A quiet laugh slipped from her mouth in answer. “Alright, then you should probably get the bacon, sausage, and egg sandwich. The home fries on the side are delicious.”
Gwen’s mouth started to water just at the thought. “So are you always right, or only 99.99% of the time?”
Another quiet laugh slipped out. “Pfft, more like 50%.”
Gwen narrowed her eyes in mock suspicion. “Why do I doubt that?”
“Because you’ll always see the best in me, even when there’s no ‘best’ to see?” she guessed, half-teasing.
“See? This is the 0.01% I’m talking about!” Gwen teased back.
Bumping her shoulder against Gwen’s, Marla stifled a huge grin. “Fine, you win.”
“I always win. It’s a gift.” Gwen winked playfully.
A faint blush rose to Marla’s cheeks. “Then I guess it’s a good thing I’m dating you.”
“Precisely!” Gwen exclaimed, imitating a stuffy scientist.
Macha shoved Gwen’s shoulder, stifling yet more laughter. “What do you want to drink?”
“Coffee. Any kind of coffee.” Gwen shot Marla an exhausted smirk.
“I mean, we slept pretty well for a sleepover,” Marla smiled, “But sure.”
“I need my beauty sleep. Otherwise I’ll be an ugly beast all day.” Gwen made a mock growling noise, stretching out her fingers like claws.
Marla twisted her lips into a false pout. “If you’re the Beast, then I’ll be Belle, so I still find you loveable.”
“It takes someone special to love such a beast.” Gwen spoke in a deep gravelly voice and broke into a coughing fit immediately after. “Ow, okay. Bad idea. No more voice.”
Marla burst out laughing, pressing one hand against her mouth to muffle it. “Oh my god…” she wheezed between giggles.
“Hey! Don’t mock me!” Gwen whined, sticking her tongue out at Marla.
Eyes glittering, Marla did her best to smother the giggles, but they only kept spilling out, unstoppable.
Gwen laughed too, joining in with Marla. Her girlfriend’s laughter was just too contagious to resist.
“Do that again,” she pleaded, shifting her hand away from her mouth.
“Okay! Give me a minute…” Gwen cleared her throat several times before croaking in her deep voice again. “Being a beast and a prince is too much responsibility. Why can I not be a simple beastie boy?” She started coughing again, bursting out into laughter.
“Oh my god—“ Marla broke out into peals I’d laughter a second time, still trying to cover her mouth. “I have to get that on video!”
“So this is how I’m going to get famous!” Gwen giggled.
“You’ll be the next Walmart yodeler,” she giggled, leaning back against the wall.
“And what exactly would my name be?” Gwen smiled affectionately at Marla.
