Catori looked up as the man approached her, smiling in greeting.
Catori looked up as the man approached her, smiling in greeting.
“Perhaps if you improved your perception you would have noted Princess Catori is waiting for me just inside the doors.” Damian replied tersely, confidently running a hand through his hair.
Lotus stood back and watched the two brothers converse. Observing their relations and thinking back as to how she got herself in this situation. Lotus was a princess in title, but her family had been over thrown when she was a young girl. The new rulers had no children of their own and allowed the two sisters to keep their titles of royalty to maintain an image that they had heirs if one were to fall. That and it would be easier to marry off daughters that weren't their own, but the sisters were forbidden to enter their castle. So the pair became royal street rats, and then the fateful winter came, and Lotus faced the first spring truly alone. Earlier in the year the false king and queen offered her an opportunity and she took without realizing the consequences, and now she was here. Lovely, she heard Pine's comment about Damien being alone, "Well you too are also technically alone. Both of you have talked to one of us, but no princess has made a clear decision as to whom we are going with."
Alexia nodded, "that would be nice," She smiled lightly at Victor and rocked on her heels.
"Hello," Kai said then stopped himself, "greeting there." He messed it up again talking royally was so annoyingly difficult. "I'm Kai," he finally just said.
What prince to bother… Hmm…//
She laughed, holding out a hand. "Catori. It's nice to meet you, Kai."
"Nice to meet you too," he laughed back glad she was able to just brush his slip up off. "I'm sorry I'm not very good at the whole royal speech thing."
Damian raised an eyebrow at Pine, as if silently mocking him with an I told you so expression on his face for a spilt second. “I suppose you're right, Princess.” He dipped his head respectfully.
"Nice to meet you too," he laughed back glad she was able to just brush his slip up off. "I'm sorry I'm not very good at the whole royal speech thing."
"It's completely okay. I can't say I fit in well with most royals anyway." She said, gesturing with her free hand at her clothes with a grin.
"I personally think your clothes look regal and sensible," Kai said and he meant it to.
Lotus dipped her head back respectfully with a smile dancing on her face, "Please, just call me Lotus. You must be Damian correct?"
"I personally think your clothes look regal and sensible," Kai said and he meant it to.
"Why thank you! I prefer practical over ornate, I'd feel bad ruining the clothes otherwise." Catori half-joked.
“Indeed.” Damian perked up a bit when he realized Lotus already knew his name. But for a moment he looked a little confused. “I apologize for any disrespect, but have we met before?”
"Oh no we haven't," Lotus responded quickly realizing her slight mistake, "I'm just a very observant person. Your brother Pine here mentioned you and the others names and my brain put two and two together. I apologize for the slight confusion."
"Oh, you don't have to explain to me about ruining clothes, half the time me and my brothers accidentally set them on fire!" Kai said remembering a fun memory when Damian and Victor had been bragging about there new shield they'd made entirely out of gold, and Pine and said that they probably wouldn't even be able to lift it, Victor had gotten so mad that he'd burst into flames right there, Damian had been standing to close and also caught on flames it had been hilarious.
"so what are you doing here?" Kai asked turning his mind back to the girl.
“No harm done, the error is on my end as well. I believe I saw someone a tad similar in the marketplace this morning and allowed my imagination to run.” He smiled apologetically. “Speaking of, Ive gotten a bracelet for each of you.as a welcoming gift.” He grabbed the four remaining bracelets colored light blue, green, purple, and black and offered them to Lotus.
"so what are you doing here?" Kai asked turning his mind back to the girl.
"Well, I'm supposed to be going with one of the princes, I believe."
Was her illusion fading away allowing herself to shine through? No, it couldn't be. Not yet. She carefully grabbed the light blue one, "Thank you kind sir. I do not recall going to the market place earlier today, so it can't have been me."
“No need for the titles, we are of equal status.” Damian cracked a small smile. “I’m certain, my brother has been talking you some wonderful stories about us, haven’t you, Pine? I imagine you enjoyed showing her your powers when you used them on me earlier. He’s quite the prankster, Lotus.” The smile on the prince’s face grew wider, but it was anything but sincere.
"oh, I hope I'm not too late, have you already decided," Kai asked running a hand through his hair.
"So that's what I saw when you went to hide behind the horse," Lotus said in a mused tone. She could sense the offness in his smile, "Care to explain his powers perchance? Or maybe what yours are as well?"
“It would be my pleasure. Who would you like to hear about first?” Damian couldn’t tell when exactly he’d like to tear apart his brother’s smooth talking with the nasty truth.
Lotus had a sly smile on her actual face. Her illusionary one remained pleasant, "Oh whomever you would like to spill first. I have no preference as to whom is spoken about."
((BUrnnn HEE HEE HEE, lotus's power would be great for those times when your freaking out but trying to remain calm, she could be like having an anxiety attack when all you see is an amused look on her fave or something.))
(Yep! Though in that case her illusion would started to fall apart. She has to have focus in order to maintain it, and a panic attack is not a time for that.)
Damian fed right into this. “Well, Pine here has a very special gift. You, see he can manipulate other people’s emotions, but I’m sure he would have told you that correct?”
"Oh really? He never bothered to tell me," Lotus had figured it would be something to that extent given the context clues that had been given. However she hadn't been quite expecting that. She glanced over to Pine before looking back to Damian, "what about yours?"
"oh, I hope I'm not too late, have you already decided," Kai asked running a hand through his hair.
"I…do have some idea, yes." She smiled a bit awkwardly.
"Well then," she hadn't given him a straight up no but he felt like it was more of a polite gesture of saying scram, but then again he could be wrong. Kai said slightly disappointed he had liked her she seemed very nice. " I guess I'll have to try my luck somewhere else, he was about to go when he suddenly had to ask. "Is that your bird?"
