Sam knocked on the door quietly. "Guys, open up. It's me, Sam,"

Jamie didn't trust himself to open the door, there was still frost covering his hands. He might freeze the door.

Eleanor peered through the small window, then opened the door just big enough for Sam to get in.

"GET IN THE CAR!" Margarita ran across the the parking lot towards her car, Sam still trying to get in. Maggie popped open the drivers door, hopped in, and popped open the passenger door."Sam, your shotgun." Maggie turned to the rest of the people in her car: Lucille, Leon, and Eleanor were sitting in the back seat, Leon looking uncomfortable in the middle, and Jamie was in the back- back row by himself.

"So," Maggie said adressing the group,"Where too?"

"I know a spot," Sam said, leaning back in their chair. "Try the woods. I'll tell you where to go,"

"The woods? Botch, nothing good ever happens there."

Sam's smile gleamed in the darkness of the van. (I'm assuming they put screens over the side windows to not be seen?) "Why else would I go there?"

(Yeah) "Maggie sighed and turned back to the front of the car. She moved her seat up a reasonable amount so that her feet could reach the pedals, her older brother must have been driving the car recently. Maggie gripped the steering wheel,"Which forest? There's Glenbriar, Redchop, Fawkes, Toa-SHAT!" Maggie screamed. There was a heard of inky blackness coming their way from the review mirror. The monsters. "CRAP!" She slammed on the gas pedal and the van lurched forward and sped out of the parking lot.

“What are those?!” Eleanor said, staring out the back window.

"Potter Forest!" Sam yelled. "The one with the fire a couple years back!"

"If I'm right," Maggie grunted as she pulled a sharp right,"Those are the things that attacked us at the library." She pulled up onto the highway, it was their only chance to escape the city.

Sam looked in the rearview mirror and saw the monsters coming. "Shit," they muttered. "Is there a fire extinguisher in here?!"

“No. There’s a bottle of some stuff though. Is this conditioner?”

"Yes. Don't question me. There is also a baseball bat that may or may not have nails in it over by Jamie. don't touch it. It's mine."

Maggie couldn't think straight. What was happening? She couldn't focus anymore, so she put on her turn signal and pulled over to the side of the road. She turned off the car and climbed out, heading for a small group of boulders in a clearing. She climbed onto the tallest one and sat cross legged, wrapping her arms around her knees and pulling them close to her chest.

Eleanor followed her, helping Leon and Jamie sit down by the rocks and went poking through the car for supplies.

"The only stuff I have in there are some soaps, my baritone, a few protein bars, and some water. Oh yeah, and the baseball bat. Maybe a single sock or two." Maggie grumbled.

“Well, we can’t stay in these woods forever. Who lives the farthest from town?” She called, pulling out the protein bars and water.

Sam smirked. "I need a volunteer to punch the rock right here," They gestured to the one on their right. "If your fist hurts, I'll give you ten bucks,"
