I never saw the original Go Nagai manga, I didn't even know Devilman was a thing until finding Devilman Crybaby on Netflix

Crybaby is kinda meh. The whole story of Devilman is an anti-war campaign from Go Nagai. For the Vietnam War.
The whole manga is twisted and violent and sexual and cynical because all of that was meant to symbolize atrocities of war. In the end, nobody was supposed to be able to tell the difference between humans and demons. And everybody but Satan died
