Marla nearly choked on her own spit when Gwen wrapped her arms around her, and it was all she could do not to melt into a tiny puddle of embarrassment. "Th-Thank you for coming," she stammered, hugging Gwen back.

Marla nearly choked on her own spit when Gwen wrapped her arms around her, and it was all she could do not to melt into a tiny puddle of embarrassment. "Th-Thank you for coming," she stammered, hugging Gwen back.
Gwen released her, coughing awkwardly. “Y-Yeah… of course…” She stammered, blushing heavily.
Macha broke the brief silence by grabbing hold of Gwen’s hand and pulling her between two segments of holographic galaxy. “Our solar system should be this way.”
“I’m a little overwhelmed if I’m being honest.” Gwen mumbled, trying to look at everything at once. The girl was practically dizzy as she stumbled after Marla.
“Sorry..” Marla mumbled, giving her a sheepish smile.
(Do you want to skip to another activity? Or to pizza?)
“Don’t worry about it. I’m lucky to have you around to guide me through it.” Gwen leaned on Marla a little, resisting the urge to play with the other girl’s hair.
(We can skip! Are there any activities you had in mind for them?)
(Well there was a movie
Idk if you’ve ever been to a planetarium, but they have these huge screens that cover all of a domed ceiling and play space documentaries and stuff
Or we could skip to truth or dare
Whatever you want)
(I went to one awhile ago! Let’s do the movie first, then we can decide what’s next from there?)
(Sure!)
“The best seats are right here,” Marla told Gwen as she pulled her towards a row of seats near the middle.
Gwen blinked a few times, still dazed from the holograms. She sank down into a seat next to Marla, allowing herself to calm down and maybe sit a little closer to Marla than she really needed to. She pulled her knees up to her chest, trying to stifle a yawn as everything calmed down around them.
Marla’s train of thought looked something like ‘Shit, she’s cute, how am I possibly going to sleep next to her without trying anything stupid? How on earth am I going to let her apply my makeup?? Oh my god she smiled that’s the most adorable thing—‘
She swallowed, trying to focus on the ceiling above. Around them, the lights dimmed.
Gwen’s gaze flicked from the ceiling to Marla’s face. Gods, she’s so adorable. She tried her best to focus on the documentary, and stretched out a bit, not so casually leaning her head close to Marla’s shoulder.
Marla’s breath hitched the moment Gwen’s head neared her shoulder. She silently prayed whatever was out there for strength, glueing her eyes to the screen above.
Halfway through the documentary, however, it was too much. Biting her lip as hard as she could, she carefully slipped an arm around Gwen’s shoulders.
Gwen felt her heart rate accelerate and Marla wrapped her arm around her shoulders. She quickly took the opportunity to rest her head on Marla’s shoulders and ended up falling asleep there, feeling warm and safe as the stars from the documentary sparkled over their heads.
(Speaking of sleep, I’m going to try to get some now! Goodnight Topaz!)
(Gnight!)
A few minutes later, Marla came to the sudden realization that Gwen had fallen asleep on her shoulder. She went completely still so as not to wake her, her heart practically bursting from her chest.
Gwen snoozed softly, wrapping her arms around Marla in order to pull her involuntary human pillow closer.
(Morning!)
(G’morning
How’re you?)
Eyes wide in shock, Marla allowed Gwen to pull her closer, hoping fervently that the sound of her pounding heart wasn’t audible to anyone but her.
(Not bad! How are you today?)
Gwen woke up towards the end of the documentary, realizing the position she had put Marla in. I have to move and apologize! I just ruined everything didn’t I? I have to get up! But the longer Gwen laid, cuddled up with Marla, more she didn’t want to move. I can just fake sleeping for the rest of this, right? Is that so bad?
(Awful tbh)
By the time the credits rolled, Marla’s face was beginning to turn purple from the lack of air she was getting into her system. After another few seconds, she swallowed and carefully shook Gwen’s shoulder, trying to wake her.
Gwen pretended to wake up slowly. “Marla? Ah! Sorry!” She sat up, grateful her voice sounded groggy still. “I didn’t mean to… You could’ve pushed me off!” She protested, silently cheering that Marla had let her be this close.
Marla drew in a deep breath of air, smiling weakly. “N-No it’s fine— I don’t, um, mind.”
“Leave it to me to already break one of our rules.” Gwen smiled innocently, trying to hide her red cheeks. “I guess we should probably get up…”
“Y-Yeah. Um.” Marla took hold of Gwen’s hand and pulled her up. “I’ll order the pizza as soon as we— as soon as we get up into the room.
Gwen let go of Marla’s hand after she was pulled to her feet. Marla’s apparent nerves made her wonder if she overstepped her boundaries. I definitely just freaked her out… She smiled weakly. “That sounds perfect.”
Marla led Gwen back to the elevator, finding it empty again. Swallowing anxiously, she made an attempt to fill the silence. "Just warning you from now– three am, pizza-drunk me is going to be spilling all my darkest secrets against the will of my sane mind."
“You and me both.” Gwen smirked at Marla, still rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. “Can we make a pact not to judge each other?”
That smirk….. Marla felt her heart do a little happy dance. "Oh, definitely. I solemnly swear not to judge you and all that."
“Glad to hear it.” Gwen shook her head in amusement, leaning against the elevator railing.
Giving a nervous laugh, Marla tired to give Gwen as much space as she could in the tight confines of the elevator. "What kind of pizza do you want?"
“I’ll eat anything! Even pineapple, although I’ll admit it’s not my favorite.” Gwen assured Marla, already missing the contact they’d shared during the documentary.
