The bell had already rung for the final time, students leaving in his car. Tirrell, in his own car, noticed Met walk out of the building and into a worn truck. And he found himself eager for the next day. Sighing, he let the feeling sit on the backburner only so he could focus on the drive home and not crash.

Andre let out a hardy laugh at the woman across from him. She seemed quite sweet and there was something about her that kept his interest. A small chime from his phone reminded him about the time. Met would be home any time now. He winced slightly, hoping that things would turn out alright. It had been explained that the boy had past issues with women.

Met sat carefully in the worn, comfortable pale leather seat in his truck, yawning faintly and setting his bag down. He liked the feel of school and his happy amount of friends he was introduced to by Tirrell. He felt faintly excited to see Andre again as he pushed the stickshift, driving out of the lot and towards home.

Soon he arrived, parking his truck a few yards away in his spot and getting out. He grabbed his bag (he had homework), took out his keys delicately. He walked the few yards to Andre’s apartment, stepping into the elevator and riding it up.

Noticing concern on the other's face, Andre began to explain the issue his son had. "If things go south, I apologize. It's not you," he assured the short woman across from them. It was then when he heard footsteps. Here went nothing…

Met repocketed his keys and gently opened the door, stepping in and shutting the door.
“Andre?” He asked softly, looking for the adult, and finding him in the kitchen with a woman.
“O-oh. Sorry.” His feeling of contentness was replaced by nervousness and a weird constricting feeling in his chest.

"No, no! Nothing to be sorry about," Andre said. "Honestly, I should have said something about this with you before you left," he finished with a sad smile. Standing from his seat, the adult walked over to his son.

Met scooted away closer to the threshold of the door. “N-no, it’s okay. Um… I’m going to go to my room and do… homework.” He swallowed, his adam’s apple bobbing.

Turning, he gave the woman a signal to give them a moment. Leading Met to his room, Andre placed his hands lightly on Met's upper arms. "If you really are going to do your homework, I'll leave you to it. If that was only an excuse then please hear me out a moment okay…?" he pleaded. The man only wanted what would be best for the two of them. He hated seeing his son in fear.

Met dipped his head, sighing at the ground. He felt his hands shaking at his sides. It was both an excuse and the truth. He just shook his head.
“I-I need to do homework. And… and I don’t want to be there…”

Taking Met's hands in his own, Andre continued on. "I apologize that I don't understand what you experienced. I thought… I… I don't know."
His words were spread out towards the end as if the adult forgot how to speak english.
"I'll let you get to work then," Andre finally stated, with a half smile. He'd likely have to ask his guest to leave fairly soon.

Met looked away from his father, sighing softly. “Okay. Than-thank you.” He cleared his throat softly, his hands still shaking.
“You-you don’t have to ruin your night because of me. Don’t worry.”

(bUT MOMMMMMMMMMMM)

Never had Andre had a more serious tone than he did in that moment. "Never. Ever. Think that you're ruining my night. I've told you. No reason to be sorry," he asserted.

“B-but… if I knew she was coming I would’ve stayed away. I don’t want to mess up anything between you and her,” He sighed softly, looking down at his feet past his fuffy blue scarf.

@Painted-Iris group

"What did I just say? You aren't ruining anything. To be fair, she came over unexpectedly," the adult argued, crouching a bit to be able to stare into Met's eyes.

Met burrowed away into his scarf, hiding his face. He took his shaking hands back, curling them up together. He shook his head a tiny bit, swallowing nervously. It was like he expected the adult to hit him.
