Kate paced through S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ, headed to the Director's office. She was being given a new assignment.
(I was thinking Fury pairs them up for an mission)

Jackson was already there in the office. His sniper over his sholder.

Kate entered and froze mid-step. "Am I interrupting something, Director?" she asked, preparing to leave.
"No, come in Kate. In fact, Jackson and I were just talking about you."
Kate narrowed her eyes suspiciously and approached, taking a seat beside Jackson. She recognized him, yes, but she couldn't place how.

Jackson's sharp eyes flick to her then look back out the wall window, "Hey."

"Hey…" she replied slowly. She looked at Nick, expecting an answer.

(He is the son of Hawkeye, yes?)

(Yep)

Jackson bit at his cuticals absently. His leg was bouncing

"You're probably wondering why I've brought you two here. Jackson, this is Kate Hill. Daughter of Maria Hill, the deputy director of S.H.I.E.L.D." Kate raised her chin proudly and held out her hand.

Jackson turns toward her. He ignores her hand and imitates a medieval accent, " I am Jackson. Son of Bayton."

"This is Jackson Barton. Son of Agent Clint Barton," Fury addressed him.
Kate studied him judgingly for a second, then retreated her hand. She turned quickly to Nick.
"Director Fury with all due respect, why is he here, and what is my mission?"
"He is here because you two are going to be partners," Nick answered.
"P-Partners?" Kate stammered. "No, I am a solo agent, Director, I–"
"You're going to be partners for your next mission," he cut her off. "After that, we'll see where is goes."

(Crap I kept getting his name wrong.)

Jackson stares at him, "PARTNERS?!!!"

Nick stopped and looked levelly at Jackson. "Have I not made that clear yet?"
Kate leaned back in her chair.

Jackson glares at Nick then Kate, "I'm not going to."

Nick arched an eyebrow. "Oh really?"
"Me either," Kate added.
"I thought you'd say that," he said with a sigh. He pressed a button on a console nearby and Kate heard the door open behind them. Maria Hill and Clint Barton walked through.
"M-Mom?" Kate stammered, shocked by Maria's presence.

(I'm not controlling Clint unless you want me to. All he has to do is be on board with Fury.)

Clint looks down at his son and sighs, "What did you do now kid?"
"Nothing!" Jackson barks quickly, sitting up straight

Maria looked from her daughter to Fury. "Didn't I tell you she would object?" she asked.
"Mom, you knew?!"
"Yes. And you're going on this mission," Maria stated, crossing her arms.

Jackson listened to Maria silently and open mouthed.
"What?!!" He roars, turning on his father,What is going on?"
Clint shrugs, "I want listening either…"

"Clint…" Maria muttered. She looked at Jackson. "You are going."
Kate crossed her arms and looked away.

"What?" Clint looks at her.
Jackson looks at Nick, "Yu never said what we are doing."

"Your briefings are waiting for you in your rooms," Nick replied evenly.
Kate glared at the wall.
"You look any harder, it'll burst into flames," Nick told her.
She looked away, startled.

Jackson chuckles slightly at that, "Are you sure she is top of our class. Er. Whatever." That earned him a smack in the back of his head by Clint.

"I'm not going on a doubles mission with him," Kate snarled.
Maria tightened. "Yes, you are."

Clint digs a finger in his ear, "Like father like son. Arguing over nothing."
Jackson turns around to glare at him, "Why Can't you just tell us whtlat the mission is?!" He barks at Nick

"Your briefing packet," Nick repeated slowly, "are in your rooms."
Kate stood up quickly and left.

"Why can't you just tell us?"

Nick exchanged a look with Maria. "I didn't know you'd want me to tell you so badly."
