Rey finally made it out of the crowd and into the shop. He wandered right over to where the cauldrons were. "Um… so pick one out, I guess? Then we can go look for any of the other things we need for potions."
Rey finally made it out of the crowd and into the shop. He wandered right over to where the cauldrons were. "Um… so pick one out, I guess? Then we can go look for any of the other things we need for potions."
Melissa looked at the cauldrons and picked one that she thought was good.
Rey made his way towards the ingredients and picked up a few that he had on his list. He occasionally checked to make sure Melissa was still there.
(Hey @Hufflepuff_Girl can our characters meet up? I think they would get along nicely)
Rey made his way towards the ingredients and picked up a few that he had on his list. He occasionally checked to make sure Melissa was still there.
Melissa wandered over into a corner of the shop. She looked at some bottles filled with murky liquids or gases.
"Interested?" the helpful shopkeeper asked, swooping over to her.
"N-No," she stammered, shaking her head.
"I'm going to buy my things. Tell me what you need, and I can help you find them in a minute," Rey said, walking towards the counter. The shopkeeper followed him, took his money, and thanked him.
Rey shuffled back over to where Melissa was examining various ingredients.
Melissa looked up again when Rey approached. "I don't think I need anything else in here," she whispered. "They don't have phials here, do they? I didn't see any."
"They should," Rey said, looking around, "I think they might be on the back wall."
Melissa nodded and walked slowly to where he directed. Another girl was there, looking at phials as well. Melissa could only assume she was another first year. In her typical fashion, Melissa said nothing and tugged her hair over her face. She waited for a minute or two for the girl to walk away before approaching the supplies.
Luna finally grabbed the book, paid for her items and walked to find Leo. She kept her head down trying to avoid any Slytherins that had bullied her in the past.
Luna began skipping around. I’m hungry. I wonder if there’s any food around here. Luna looked around and slammed right into someone who looked like a first year. “Oh my gosh I’m so sorry!” Luna offered the girl her hand.
Melissa fell to the ground, her shoulder hitting against the floor. She bit back her cry and looked up at the girl who'd run into her. "It's… It's okay," she stammered, tentatively taking her hand.
(Where is everyone right now?)
(Melissa and Rey are in the Potions shop, so I'm assuming Luna is there too… Idk where Cassandra went.)
Rey heard a bit of commotion and the thud of someone hitting the floor. He turned around to see Melissa getting up.
"You alright over there?" he asked, striding over.
She nodded to Rey. "I just fell. I'm clumsy," she said softly, not wanting to bother the girl any longer.
"Okay," Rey muttered, containing his worry as much as possible. She didn't seem hurt…
"Just be careful, alright?" he said with a smile.
She nodded again. "S-Sorry…"
"No need to apologize," Rey reassured her, "Alright, what else needs to be done?"
"Do they have scales here?" Melissa asked him quietly, remembering the list. "Brass scales?"
"Somewhere," he replied, "probably close to the cauldrons." He paced around the shop until he found them. "Over here!"
Melissa came over where Rey had called. She looked at the brass scales and selected a reasonably sized one to go with her phials.
"And that should be it. Ready to pay?" he asked. Rey slowly started walking back up to the counter.
Melissa followed him, making sure not to ruin anything before they even paid for it.
"Luna!" Luna turned around to see Leo running to her with two of his friends tagging behind. "There you are." Luna glared at Leo. "Where did you go Leo, I've been looking for you. I even ran into a poor first year." Leo shifted his eyes. "Uh, well.." One of Leo's friends cut him off. "We found him and we dragged him off with us. Sorry for the fright." Luna rolled her eyes.
"I need to get my books," Melissa piped up once she paid and they left the shop.
One of Leo's friends stayed towards the back, he had dark brown hair and icy gray eyes. He winked at Luna and she turned away blushing.
"I need to get my books," Melissa piped up once she paid and they left the shop.
Cassandra stood on the raised podium as sowing tools worked around her, mending and fitting her robes. She waited patiently as the woman worked. The atmosphere inside the shop was warm and calming, which she greatly enjoyed.
Luna turned to Leo. "Are we going home soon? Mummy said she wants us home before dinner." Leo was to distracted by something in the distance.
