After a moment, Kate swallowed and spoke. "Uh, is there anything that you really need?"

"Um, no. I'll be fine even if I do need something." He replied quietly.

She nodded. "Do you want me to stay?"

"You can stay if you want…."

"Do you want me to stay?" she repeated.

"Only if you want to, I thought you wanted to spend time with your mom."

"Dammit!" she shouted, hitting the bed. "Make up your mind!" Suddenly her features softened again. "S-Sorry," she whispered.

"you can stay." Jay said and looked up at her then moved so there was room for her, just in case she wanted to sit down.

She smiled and sat. "I'm sorry for yelling," she apologized.

¨As to you¨ Selena or catwoman said.

"Vanessa is in the other room" he guided her to the main living space

Selena saw brink and vanessa.

Brink gingerly stood, mindfull of his wound "Mrs Kyle," he bowed slightly, his father smiling wider at his sons little antics "it is truly a pleasure to meet you." He offered a hand in greetings

She smiled and sat. "I'm sorry for yelling," she apologized.

"It's fine I know you are stressed."

She nodded absently and looked at him.

He laid back in the bed and stayed silent.

Kate was silent to until a quiet sob escaped her lips. A horrified look crossed her face and she clapped her palm over her mouth.

Jay looked over at her then wrapped his arms around her. "It will be ok." He whispered.

She leaned against him and whimpered. The What Ifs began to show up. What if she doesn't wake up? What if Matt ditches you as a friend because you love Jay? What if Jay ditches you because you still hang out with Matt? What if…………. What if………….. What if……………

Jay held her close. "It's ok Kate."

Selena followed the joker once she was in the same room as Vanessa and brink she looked at them "hello brink" she said.

He withdrew his hand and smiled politely and sat next to Vanessa
"I hope it's not too much of an inconvenience that we brought Vanessa over from her training," Harley said from next to Joker

"not at all" she said as she looked at brinks wound in his side and Vanessa's wounded her shoulder.

Jay held her close. "It's ok Kate."

She desperately tried to relax against him. "What if she dies, Jay?"

"I don't know. But what if she doesn't." He said to her.

"something wrong Mrs Kyle?" Brink asked as he saw her eyeing the injuries. Something in his tone suggested that she not inquiry about them

"I don't know. But what if she doesn't." He said to her.

Kate clearly considered this. "I… I would be thankful. She is the strongest woman I know."

"if she is the strongest woman you know then I believe she will wake up."

Selena shook her head ¨Come dear it´s time to meet samuel ivy´s son¨ selena said
¨Mother I don´t love samuel¨ vanessa said
¨Oh?¨ selena questioned.

"You think so?" she asked, her eyes shining once again with rekindled hope.

Brink made a mental note in his head to later find this Samuel later.

¨Then who do you love¨ she asked.
Vanessa grabbed brinks hand lacing thier fingers.

"You think so?" she asked, her eyes shining once again with rekindled hope.

"I think so." He said to her.
