"I've been up all night.." He half laughed sleepily. "Worrying, mostly.."
"I've been up all night.." He half laughed sleepily. "Worrying, mostly.."
"About what?" she asked, putting her hands on his shoulders.
"Finances, marriage, having a family, war," he listed miserably.
She cupped his face with her hands. "We're getting married," she reminded him. "Won't you enjoy it? If for one day, let it be today, my love."
His expression softened. "Its such a big thing, I'm so.. Anything could happen," her fiancé worried.
Louis nodded, raising his fists to his bloodied face and blowing warm breath over them. “You okay?”
"I am. I'm more worried about you and your face," Cruz half laughed.
He snorted, electing not to touch the tender spot where he’d been hit. “I’ll be fine. The General’s got more bark than bite.”
"I noticed," Cruz smiled.
A different man entered the tent, with a dirtied coat that looked stained slightlt darker. It could very well be the blood of their fellow captured men. "Anything to say?" He spoke with an oddly high pitched voice, yet still somehow menacing.
( Like Simcoe from TURN, A rly good show that i totally suggest its on netflix dear god someone watch it so i can fangirl to someone omg theres like 2 people in the entire fandom and this great show deserves more ugh)
(I might give it a try, what genre?)
Lionel remained still and silent.
Its historical fiction. I PROMISE ITS NOT LIKE A DOCUMENTARY XD when i say its based in the american revolution everyone immediately loses interest but i promise its not boring. Such a good plot and so many good bois. )
Cruz lifted his chin indignantly.
"Fair enough." The man spoke, brandishing a bayonet blade that would normally be on the barrel of a rifle. Cruz's eyes flashed with a mixture of respomse, mostly urgency to defend– not yet.
(oh sounds cool
If it's not rated R, then my overly-strict parents will probably let me watch it xD)
Fear rose like bile in his throat, the subtlest hint of it flickering in his eyes before he snuffed it out. He remained where he was, eyes fixed to the man and his bayonet.
XD there is some friskiness.. But it doesnt get really graphic or anytjing, if anything it just suggests it )
The man bent to grasp a hand across Cruz's scalp, and as he bent down with the weapon– it was like lightning–Cruz flumg his frozen hands up to turm the blade onto its handler, and then into the redcoat's stomach.
A weak gasp croaked from the man's mouth as he collapsed.
(lol should be fine by their standards…. it took me like three months to get the to let me watch Sherlock)
Immediately, Louis came alive, jumping to his feet and slipping free of his bonds. "Let's go," he whispered urgently to Cruz, pushing the body into a corner.
OvO )
His shorter friend nodded curtly. His lips formed a straight serious line across his face, brows shadowed his hardened eyes. "Let's go."
The large man made no sound as he moved across the tent, bearing an unexpected grace for his size and strength.
Cruz trailed directly behind him, his movements deliberate and swift.
Together, they slipped from the tent and skimmed around the outskirts of the camp, not daring to make a single sound.
Cruz smiled slyly, feeling a particular sense of relief and victory when the arms of the forest welcomed them. Beyond the treeline, five miles of neutral territory, and then their camp– or whatever would be left of it.
Louis's face remained passive and empty as his body moved through the trees. Only his eyes seemed alive with emotion; victory, determination, trepidation.
"Louis," Cruz whispered, walking a bit faster to flank his friend, eyes bright. "Louis, we made it," he laughed quietly, "Dumb bastards can't keep us. I'm marrying that woman." He rambled with hushes excitement.
The man allowed himself an amazed smile. "You are marrying that woman, and I'm just as excited as you, but we still need to be careful. We're not safe yet."
"I know. That's why I'm whispering," Cruz slugged his best friend's arm.
Louis gave a roll of his eyes, shaking his head in amusement as the emotionless mask slipped from his face.
"Ayy, Frenchie. Look at us. We're gonna be legends." He laughed, walking backwards in front of Louis.
"Whatever you say, Cruz," he muttered, voice carrying traces of laughter.
Cruz smiled wider still, and turned forward. "What'll you do when you see your man?"
Louis immediately softened at the mention of his beloved, a wistful smile on the curve of his lips. "I am going to kiss him until his knees give out. Then–" Just to raise Cruz's spirits further, he went into detail about various other 'tasks' they would complete together, only in French.
Cruz wasn't bilingual, but knew enough French to pick up contexts. "Oui oui oui, who knew you were so sinful." He teased.
Louis snorted at that. "Says you. April, is she impressed by you in bed?" he shot back, shaking out his oily hair.
"She is, matter of fact," he replied humouredly. Now that they were free, with fresh blood in their veins, it didnt seem sk cold.
He gave another small eye-roll, peering at the camp through the trees.
